Ok well I know alot of you are getting into this because ofcorse LotR is awsome and alot of people are makeing LotR Mods and what not. Well a little fact about the Uruk-Hai is that they have no back armot on them. It's completly bare. That's because they were born to fight and never run away from battle. You all might think im lieing but just watch the extended version of the two towers. It shows alot of useful infomation and also pictures of helms deep and other things for people makeing those kinds of maps.

Of course it's true about the armor. Well, good to make it clear :D

If it's true it's damn stupid. Having armor only in the front would make you darn unbalanced and leave you open for attacks in the back - in a large battle your enemy isn't always in front of you. I wouldn't pay any attention to this detail, since imho it's more realistic to ignore it. Still, good to bring it up.

The Uruks were made as a fighting army, superior in numbers and strength, they were created not to be routed, nor to run away, therefore they dont have back armor, in a pitched battle/siege, like helms deep, they had ranks, like the greek Hoplites, there was a rank behind to take down any breaches in the lines.

like so:
* = uruk hai
+ = man

**************************************************
**************************************************
**************************************************
**************************************************
***************************
+*********************
****************************-*********************

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
++-------------+++++++++++++++----------+++++++++
-------++------------------++------------+++++++

so, any men that break the line, get taken down by behind ranks, it works the same in melee combat too
