Well, this is my first skin, made with Gimp. I alphad the DH's ears and blades, made him human, and recolored his tattoos/pants. He looks kinda Christmassy, so I may make him tanner. Here are a few pics:

The skin color looks a bit off, and a human demonhunter has been done too many times, at least add something new... look at my dh so you know what i mean.

I plan on enhancing it, but as I said, it's my first skin. I'm learning how to use the tools and stuff with Gimp, and plan on adding a breastplate after I get good enough.

I did a DemonHunter for my first skin too... it seems to be the thing.

Mine was Elven with Blonde hair tho'.

It sucks, I had fixed his albino problem and drawn detailed armor on and now it won't import right anymore...

You demon hunter was awesome whitehorn.

Anyway, as for your little modeling problem, try re- exporting the skin, and pasting your old design on top, then re-importing it. That sometimes helps. Also make sure you didn't screw around with the Alpha channels.

Awesome, I got him working again! Now, I just need to reshorten his ears and remove the blades...

A lot of the plate armour pieces are irregularly shaped, make sure you you draw the lines carefully.

Also, your skin is still exibiting a very flat appearance. The armor needs to be shaded heavily. This can be a difficult process for some skiners, but it also a very important one.

I recommend you study pieces of actual metal to get a feel of where the shine should appear.

The plates are supposed to be odd like that, that's how the armor I'm basing it on is.

By shading, do you mean the dodge/burn tool, or just making some darker spots?

And how do I incorporate textures?

Use burn/dodge for shading because everything is shaded in life. And also use the smudge tool on a low opacity so it melds places together after you use it.

That was quite far from your own Emil, Its it first skin or not ?

Well as far Im concerned to human DHs they are not pink and neither have long ears, try changing this first buddy and then lets see what else can be improved... ;)

Don't use Dodge and Burn for anything other than touch ups.
Instead shade your metal like this.
