CUSTOM MINIMAP PINGS

I'm not sure how many people will find this useful. With the help of Draco and obs^away on IRC, I have found a way to add custom minimap pings to your map.

In the included zip file, there are 4 .BMPs. ping2.bmp, ping4.bmp, ping5.bmp, and ping6.bmp. Go into your favorite photo editing program (MSpaint won't work) and Make the pings whatever you want them to look like in game.

A few notes:

1) ping2 and ping5 are the in-game pings. ie, the ones that the game makes, not the player
2) ping5 rotates in game, keep this in mind when editing it.
3) If you want a steady (non-rotating) in-game ping, then make ping2 whatever you want, and make ping5 completely black.
4) ping4 and ping6 are the player pings. ping 6 is the middle part ("!" by default) and ping4 is the outer circle.

What You Need

1) Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne
2) Photo Editing program (MSPaint Will NOT work)
3) War3 Viewer (Get it from the downloads section)
4) Some free time

How to use in your map:

1) Make the pings, and save them.
2) Convert the ones you want to use to .blp format.
3) Open up your map in the editor
4) Go to the import manager and import the appropriate BLPs
5) Change the path of the pings to UI\MiniMap\ping#.blp (Where # is whatever the ping number is, 2, 4, 5, or 6)
6) Test it in your map!

If you encounter any problems, PM me.

Here's an example of what you can expect. This is a player ping.

Did you convert to BLP? If you imported the BMP it won't work, it has to be BLP not BMP

No, MSPaint won't work cuz it screws the alpha layer up. Use War3 Viewer to convert it to .blp format.

Whats wrong with it it's not in-appropriate, off topic, and it is useful.... Was your decision of deleting it personal or majority's vote? sorry just thought more info couldn't hurt anyone...

Was based on the fact that I don't need any outside help. Thank you, good bye.
