Protecting my map from unprotectors?

I hear people talk about a tool that can unprotect protected maps... this is true?

I am NOT asking anyone for one, so don't ban me or anything. I just want to know if there is some way to PREVENT someone from unprotecting my map, rigging the hell out of it, and giving it to other people to rig it even more. Is there a certain protection tool that I need to use or something?

One suggestion I can make (to pervent n00bish idiots from just unprotecting it) is to convert all triggers to custom text in your distro copy. There ****ed unless they know JASS :ggani: .

There is no way to make a map un-unprotectable because if war3 can read it, someone can edit it.

It is possible to edit any map reguardless of what you do to it (assuming wc3 can still read the map).

Using a protector such as mine(see link in my sig) offers a reasonable level of protection. Since my protector obfuscates the jass, even if it is unprotected it will not be easy to change the triggers.

Yes, I have since gotten TFT and it is compatable. I guess I'll edit my forum posts.

A note though: When picking the name to save the protected map as, you need to put the proper extension (.w3x for a TFT map) because it defaults to .w3m if you don't type an extension.

Every Map, that should be playable can be editet.
I know a Tool, that can unprotect a Map, but you all should know, that EVERY Unprotecting Tool,
doesn't support GUI Triggers, so automatically all Triggers gonna be Jass.
And the most noobs don't understand that, so just protect your Map with the w3m Utils Power Protector.
Because there is no real protection, that can hold against everything, and there might never be one...

There will never be a way to protect a map because, as JollyOven said, so long as Warcraft III can read the file to play it, someone else can use a program to read it and crack it.

If it's not done yet, someone probably will even make a tool to rebuild the GUI for triggers. I have a feeling Darky27 already has.

I've always wanted a map protect to protect a single trigger,
so u allow someone to edit a map, aside from a trigger that displays to all player, "This is a tutorial map, if you are playing it on Battle Net it is most likley rigged"
so ideas and methods could be shared with out rigging

so would it be possible to protect a TFT map with your protector, and play it on regular RoC warcraft3? ive downloaded your utility, and it works great, i was wondering if its possible to allow it to run in RoC if you have file extention to be .w3m
thanks.
