k dont start to flame right away, read my reasen we start making this first. who wasnt dissapointed in dota when they got tft? please raise hands, cuz i was. personally i think they ****ED dota up... SO we decided to take a map of dota: chaos that wasnt protected, and start modding it back to its original state: dota:classic. So its kind of a restoration mission. But, while we where at it, we though up some nice ideas for new stuff to add/change. most heros will remain the same as in dota classic, with some changed arts maybe but basically the same. some heros have new skills or models (not custom(yet)), and we replaced some heros with new ones. we might add some items as well, if we can come up with something that is really usefull and isnt in dota allready. UD: -the siege engine will be replaced with the Scarabian Mauler. -Pit Lord has some skill changes. -wraithlord. -soulrender -mageslayer -lycontrophy will be replaced with a new assasin. -lifestealer. -tormented soul will have a model change. -the vampire has some skill changes -bone fletcher. -commander of the abys. -demon magess was replaced with the soulrevenant. -void demon. -necrolyte. -venomancer will be replaced... NE: -aquasoul will be replaced with the vodoo doctor. -stealth assasin. -flame lord -lunar.. thingie.. will replaced with a Druid. -dryad will probubly be replaced. -frost maiden -purities disciple -virtues disciple -titan of the order -earthshaker will have a model replacement (earth panda) -troll warlord. -omniknight -dwarven sniper -juggernaught -phantom lancer -dragon knight will be replaced with a Mountain Giant hero. |

with ''we'' he means erwtenpeller and vig0r (thats me;) ) some new features he forgot to mention: -Changed titleset into felwood (that was the first dota titleset) -All custom buffs, so no 3 heroes with a hast buff. What we currently need are idea's for: Offensive/Supporting caster for NE Offensive/sieging caster for UD And off corse all the uber idea's u can think of! O right, to explain one of the new UD heroes: The soul revenant. (note: i will post the stats later :D , but the stats need lots of nerfing/balancing.) The soul revenant is based on one thing: Mana. Mana is all that he needs. He provides mana to the group, and leaches mana from the enemy. If he reaches huge amounts of mana, he can release it, dealing damage equal to the mana used. ( or half, quarter, whatever u get the poin't; the more mana u use, the more damage it does.) The skills: Soul extraction: The soul revenant leeches an enemy unit with mana, extracting his soul and claiming it has his own. (stats later) Mana Share: Gives a amount of mana to a ally unit with mana. Mana cylinder: Increases the mana capicity of the soul revenant. Release: (ultimate) The soul revenant rapidly releases all of his mana, dealing huge amounts of damage. The damage dealt is equal (half, quarter... has to be balanced) to the mana used. The soul revenant can be a excelent suporter, but also functionds as a powerfull damage dealer. Dont chase this guy assasins: he might got some tricks upon his sleaves..... |

model/skin: Crypt lord. primary atribute: strenght abilities: Maul: deals great damage to a target ubit or building. every level more damage. Summon Locusts: Locust swarm, but weaker. every level more locusts. spiked carpace: thorns and armor. increased armoe per level, and better thorns each level. Plant Eggs: plants 3 eggs intarget unit. the maggots will consume target unit, and three scarabs will apear from the corpse, without a timer. the main use for the mauler is siege, using his locusts and spikes to damage units that attack the mauler while he attacks a structure. the voodoo doctor skin/model: shadow hunter (duh) atrribute: Intelligence. the voodoo doctor has powerfull but expencive spells -healing wave. -density ward - a ward that slows units in its area of effect. slow increases with skill level. -puppet - voodoo doctor gains control over target non-hero unit. cooldown decreases with skill level. -voodoo magik- the voodoo doctor slowely drains the life out of target unit. the voodoo doctor cannot move during the prces, or he will lose his focus. the range of this skill is unlimited. maximum life points drained is 200, at a rate of 10 HP per second. really long cooldown. there is no escape from voodoo magic, unless you kill the vodoo doctor or get him to brake his trance. very handy spellcaster to aid assasins. can slow enemies, heal allies, and strke at enemies with vodoo magic at times when they expect it the least... |

old lycantrhope biotch.... runic fire - sets a unit on fire, and burns all units around him. lasts 20 seconds. lvl 1 - 15 damage a sec lvl 2 - 20 damage a sec lvl 3 - 25 damage a sec howl - releases a howl and reduces enemys armor. lvl 1 - -5 armor lvl 2 - -10 armor lvl 3 - -15 armor Ferocity (passive)- 15% to deal more damage lvl 1 - 2x lvl 2 - 3x lvl 3 - 4x Lycanthropy (ultimate)- Turns into a werewolf with increased attack speed and health. lvl 1 - 500 health, 10%as increase. come on erwten..? |

Personally, I have been looking for that terrain(for my aos, wont be the same terrain, but the landscape will be the same, but different tileset, tweaking to doodads/trees, part of the river will be bottomless pits, etc.), so if you could post it I would be grateful. Second, I always wanted to take the classic DotA and not "remake it" but rather just "modernize" it. Basically, take classic and make use of the current TFT WE functions to make it better, without changing the actual heroes, and keeping MOST(though not ALL) of the skills identical. Stuff like making the towers a bit harder to kill, making repair mercs hirable in the base(for a reasonably high price, like 800-1k gold, but also making them reasonably durable, like the doggies.), adding more hero levels, additional skill levels, swapping out the stupidly cheap assassin's perma-invis and replacing it with a windwalk type spell, then remaking his other spells to compensate, Upgrading some of the models(like previously said soulrender malfurion model->orc warlock model, using the wcwarehouse custom sidereal engine model for the sidereal engine, etc), making the gold death penalty not 'SO' harsh, and swapping around some soundsets(some make no sense, and some are used more than once). The custom spells will be left alone, the spawnies will be beefed up just a TEENSY bit(to compensate for the higher lv heroes, but not too far as to make em tower shredding machines), will make the doggie easier to kill than it is(it should be relatively easy to kill, considering the trivial cost, but strong enough you can actually use it without it getting toasted instantly). As far as the spells, theyll be left pretty much alone, except for the assassin which needs some severe tweaking. All I really need is an unprotected copy of DotA:DX/EX to start with, you would be amazed at the balancing ideas I got. |

first of all, the dota EX series are protected. but there is some suckiy version out there of chaos that u can use. i think tower repairerers would ruin a big part of dota gameplay, and so will higher hero levels. dota has always been about making money, get the best items first. higher hero levels would mean better and more expencive items, beefing spawn buildings and towers, and spawned units, thus making the game take ages to complete. i also think the stealth assasin is just fine the way he is, just make permanent invis a lvl 6 skill or something... if u change him u might either lose the dispelling fade, the mines or critical strike. and besides, there are plenty of assasin counters. (well not teh much but theres amplify damage and the doggies, wich i tghink is enough.) people should fear the SA like they do a good mageslayer. basically we are just modernizing it as well. maybe we should make it a combined project? if we can settle our minor diffrences that is. becouse if everyone starts flooding the market with new dota versions it'll just become less populair becouse of the endless downloads. (and becouse most will suck) the harsh gold death penalty i think is good, becouse it makes you not want to die. especially spellcasters, cuz they usually dont make that much money. if the spellcasters wernt afraid of dying as they are now, assasins like the mageslayer would make waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much money killing them off. wich would mean you have to reduce the pawning fee, but the pawning is one of the funnest thing about dota: pwned u suucka! but have been thinking about a diffrent approach lately, i think it would be best to -like you said- not replace old heros, cuz they all have fans, but i want to put my own stamp on the game. so i was thinking about actually ADDING like two new heros to the offer there is today, to make gameplay more versitile. And try to make the new heros as 'new' as possible, actually adding to the gameplay. so waddaya say, for b-net userfriendlies sake, lets combine our ideas and powers to come up with the ultimate dota? eerr.. that is if vig0r agrees with all of this ofcourse.. |

i actually prefered dota... since the tob version i played (the only one so ionno if its same) was with stupid islands and shallow water... bah! dota really kicked butt, i played most of the early versions 2.1, 2.2 wateva... forgot. The hero skillz were pretty well done for most of the parts and the game wasnt laggy unlike the other AOS-style maps. I always used the lich hero in dota... mass summons ^^. |
