Importing Skins and Models

I'm having problems with importing skins and models. The main problem is that when I import the model (say a copy of the spell breaker) the spell breaker model displays but not the skin I wanted him to use.

I'm either doing something wrong or my w.e is bugged. Would someone mind going through step by step how to import a skin?
