Hi, I'm not a noob at terraining, but I am a noob at all the possible cool tricks you could do.. I was wondering how to do the lake/river/sea where the shore looks like a beach, meaning that the water level is on the same height as the ground, and you can see the nice waves near shore, and that kinda thing. And I know that I can't just do it with ramp because ramp doesn't always work, especially if I'm making a small round pond, so I come to you with this problem. |

Make the whole area Shallow water, and use the "Raise terrain" tool to make the beaches/shores. Heres a Quote from another thread someone made about the same thing, the person said it worked. And I have since tested it, and it does work. :D Quote:
The thread thats from is http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/s...threadid=29059 |

If you click on my sig, there is a tutorial there on advanced terrain. Just scroll down on the forums and find one done by me (Advanced Terraining). It covers alot of things, including making those beachy shores. And you might want to browse around our forum on the map dev and take a look at 'New uses for doodads'. It does cover alot of interesting things you can do with doodads. |

You can do it any of the ways above, but I've found that the easiest way it to just make a new map that's all shallow water and just raise terrain. If you want to get a nice looking beach, just use the smooth tool. |

Thats the way I do it... but we don't know whether SektorGaza already has part of the map done, if so then that way is not applicable. |

Yes, but if your in the middle of a map which you have all the currently completed areas perfect, you might not want to start over. |
