Artillery problem

Is there any way to not allow artillery(or a specific unit would be better) to blow up units when killed? I ask this because I use artillery on my archers to make them miss moving targets, but it looks silly because they all blow up. Can you help?

instead of using "artillery" maybe you could just check the "projectile-homing" box and unclick it? that would still make the archers miss moving targets right?

Archers don't have missile homing enabled by default.

However I believe there is a setting in the gameplay constants for miss damage (when a unit moves out of a certain range of the projectile target point, measured by the Range Motion Buffer field) that you can change to zero. It's default 50% damage I think.

Actually, they would APPEAR to miss, but would still do damage.

You could remove the "Art - Special" from the units that you don't want to blow up (because that is the animation for it)
