ya that might work.
but it is sad that you cant walk under bridges
oh well

BlackLotus
that's because wc3 just got 2 pathings...
walkable and not walkable...
and if ur bridge would be walkable from the side, the units
would pop uo it and then fall down on the other side...
and believe me, that looks stupid... ;)

WTFish
It is possible to be able to walk under bridges, but this stops the bridges from being able to be walked on, just there for scenery.

Open your map in the world editor, open object editor. Double click on the bridge you want to change. Set Pathing: Is walkable To false, set Pathing Texture to Mushrooms <base>, Cattail <base>, Birds <base>, Fish <base>... It is under doodads.

There... Thats all there is to it

@Soul
Yes, i knew that, but that ruins the upper part...
and a bridge got the function to be walked on...
;)
So i prefer a beam method for the walkable bridge... ;)

I saw a thread about this some time ago, and it is possible to use a bridge that is both walkable and not walkable, but not at the same time if you see what i mean, you change the pathing or something like that via triggers.

ya but that would be a lot of work, and im not the best with triggers, so. but thanks for all of the tips

Well this sucks. I wanted to have people be able to build bridges in my melle map, and still have boats be able to said uner them...

So the best work around is using a lot of triggers change pathing or to have it teleport, or to just let boats sail on top of it??? Boooo... :nono:

There has to be another way...

I'm afraid there will be no other way than using triggers, and it will never be perfect, most certainly not when you can place random bridges, which is pretty hard to do me thinks.

but wait arent ground and naval pathing different? couldnt it work, water underneath, ground on top?

Korgoth
do the walkable bridge thing.

then just make a trigger -unit enters region (region is A) move unit instantly to region (point b)

and make another trigger reversing the regions so u can go back

point A ________ point B
bridge ^^

*edit
u could make it walkable and raise the terrain so it looks like a boat could go unde it.

or.

make boats fly but restrict the movement height, maybe, dunno that might be pushin it.

Dark Illidan
those might work but is it worth all of that work?
01-23-2004, 08:27 PM#14
Korgoth
...

i guess u could make it walkable so the boats can go through, and put invisible platforms over the top so u can walk over it

Right korgoth. Make an invisible bridge, when a unit needs to walk over it, just make the inviisble bridge there. If a unit needs to go under, destroy invisible bridge. Simple as that.

You couldn't have it be that a unit is going under at same time unit is going above, but hey, nothings perfect
