I was wonderin last night, 'What would be a game I would like to play on BattleNet?' And then this great idea came. It would be a medievil game where there were 4 - 6 forcers (havent' decided yet) who vied for control of the continent. Anyone ever played Brigandine? If you have, that is how I plan to do the monster set up. I will explain in more detail later. Anyway, it would not be a shallow castle defence like they have out there now, it would be a great player vs. player, where you can actually use skills. There would be supply carts sent out from various places at various times to your castle. These supply carts would provide food needed for troops, and supplies needed for war. Now here comes the cool part. Enemy forces can take over these supply carts and feed thier armies while yours starve. So, in order to keep from losing and being wiped out, you have to go and battle against the army that has taken over your supply line. If you battle out in the plain, then nobody has an advantage, but if you got attacked in your castle, then you would have the advantage. To keep people from hiding in thier castle the entire game, you have to go and steal their supplies. I think this sounds like a cool game. Of course it is definitly going to be deeper than this, but this is all I could think of for now. I will probably have buildings you can build that will allow the upgrade into new ages, etc... I will probably add merchant carts that have immunity from capture and give the ability for you to barter for great items. It will be full of great advanced spells and other stuff. I can do most of this myself, but the one thing that I just suck at is terraining. So, if anyone out there thinks that this sounds in the least bit interesting, and you can do something, just reply and you have basically made the team. I espically need a good terrainer though. I really believe that this could be an extremely sucessful map that would actually introduce real-time strategy back into this world. I hope you aren't asleep yet:ggani:. I know that is a lot to read, but it was a lot to write too.:D Don't worry, i am still working out all of the details of how the map is actually going to work. |

i only read the first 2 paragraphs but i needed to say this. i suck at multi-tasking in games. like building a tower, training units, fighting creeps. all that at the same time. i am sure a lot of other people do to. so i dont know if u already thougth of this but u should have like 2 or 3 people all on the same team. so 4 teams of 3 people would have all the player slots taken up but u dont need any more. might lag a bit but tell people to get cable. (i have 56k cause the cable company wont bring it to us) but that doesnt matter thats my problem. then make every one on the team have full control of every thing except a few special guys like heros or something that are their own. so u have to work as a team to win. and of course u could give control of ur heros and stuff to ur team mates. but over all great idea. if u want customized heros like with spells and stuff tell me and give me some idea of what u want them to be like. i cant do models though. nice idea. |

You think that you have to do alot, but you have to realize, that I can't multitask eitheremote_confused. So we are in the same boat. I did not intend for the player to do more than just control his army, whether moving them across the screen, or whether in battle, but putting people on teams is a very bad idea. Then what happens if you have a noob on your team? Most of the game will be controlled by the computer, you will just have to keep track of it all kind of in the back corner of your mind. I think I will revamp the battle system... It wouldn't work too well w/more than one player, but those ideas are not set in stone by any means, they are extremely flexible to other peoples ideas and opinions. BTW, i am going to be making this map, so I am going to start working on it tonight. I hope that other people can share my vision and help me out w/it because I can't do the whole thing on my own. |

That sounds great man, if you want you can start working on the map. I will start working on some triggered spell I plan to have. Just go crazy on the map, I want it to look pimp:D. As soon as you get the map done, I can start the game engine that will really drive the game. I am not really awsome at skinning, but I plan to do a few for the mod. Anyone got an idea for a name? |

what should it look like?(the map) and how big? the name? i dunno oh yea i got custom music i wanna add too btw do you have aim? |

just make the map about 160 x 160. Then split it up into 4 kindgoms that are definitly different from each other. Custom music is okay as long as we don't add too much, because then the load time on BNET will be horrendous. |
