Well, last time i skinned, you needed a few programs to get skins to work. Now these days it seems all you need is the editor n w3viewer. However, While mucking around, getting back into skinning, only 2 of the four skins i put into the map worked. this was the meat wagon n zombie, the demon hunter and Skeleton Lost everything but the team colour. this obviously has something to do with alpha channels. What I did Got the blp in w3viewer(using w3view) exported it as a tga(using w3view) edited it(using Psp 7) converted it into a blp(using w3view) imported into map (using editor) changed the filepath accordingly, and tested the map so why is it only TWO skins that show?! |

That happened to my DH a lot, too. I just copied it onto an unaltered one and then anchored it, if I took parts off I'd have to redo them. It sucked, but it worked. |

Its not just demon hunter. i think its anything that uses more than one texture file. I tired editing all the texture files and importing them, nothing works. |

no, my problem is that any unit that uses extra textures does not load properly, the skin does not appear in game, but the extra textures/team colour they use DO. eg. i edit the skeleton mage. in game, he is nothing but red shoulder pads, a red cape, and two small green fires. |

What You Do Is Extract The Orginal Skin From War3.mdx Then Open Both And Copy The Skin into the normal (not alpha channel) Save convert See if works. Then From There You Can Edit Alpha Channels. What You Do Is Extract The Orginal Skin From War3.mdx Then Open Both And Copy The Skin into the normal (not alpha channel) Save convert See if works. If You have A Diffrent Alpah Channel Than The Normal one then try to edit the alpah channel. |

WC3player2: You Really Need To Learn To Type Without Capitalizing Every Damn Word, It's Terribly Annoying And Hard To Read... |

ok, so im translating this form wc3player to english. extract two copies of the same skin, one using the old manual method, and one using the w3view method, copy the w3view one ontop of the maually exported one, and it should work, right? if so, thats still a bitch, i wanna do all my stuff usin w3 view and nothing else (coz im a lazy bastard):D |

no extract orginal skin. Then copy YOUR skin ontop of the orginal skin and leave alpha channels allone. It should work. Then if it does then edit alpha channels. |
