Kentel versus Dreshna
The beginning...

Kentel versus Dreshna
The beginning

Wind blew as the family of Ken'tel sat silently on the fields of grass, enjoying the sun fall over the horizon. Endala thought of her beloved, Ken'tel, and a tear ran down her eye just imagining him next to her. She missed her so, but he would return soon, so all was not misery. Turning her head toward a rustling bush, she opened her mouth in awe as an ice shard flew toward her. Struck in the belly, she felt only shock and love of Ken'tel.

“There is no need to feel pain, wench, for your suffering has only begun! And now your soul has become mine, completing my task! You and this city are now victim to my wrath!

Like an eclipse, the skies darkened and for an instant, Endala thought of her love, Ken'tel. And as if in answer, she saw him come to her side and sat her up on the tree.

“No! You foolish sorcerer!! as an enraged Ken'tel summoned a fiery spirit, sprouting wings and a tail. The burning minion burst into speed, wings spread wide.

A dark shield of hatred manifested in front of Dreshna, counter acting Ken'tel's minion. But Ken'tel used this time given, and he was not one to waste an opportunity, as he cast a hex on Dreshna, binding him with fiery rings in the air and immobilizing him.

“Foolish Sorcerer! Do not toy with magics you cannot control!! laughed Dreshna. Concentrating his mind energies, he broke each bind and fell to the ground.

Ken'tel roared in anger, and his eyes burnt red with fury. Rising from the ground, as if a volcano had erupted, formed a group of burning warriors, wielding swords greater than their height.

“Attack with fury, my warriors, and do not let the flames of your spirit be quenched! yelled Ken'tel. The fiery swordsmen advanced at full speed toward their target, burning the ground beneath them.

Without saying a word, Dreshna opened his maw, and within it shot out the very essence of death itself. Glowing purple, each band of death had its own soul, its each face, screaming in terror. And the screaming faces knew no master other than Dreshna, and followed his silent command to kill. Colliding into each of the burning warriors, they spread their hatred throughout them. The swordsmen stopped, looked into the air as if praying to god, and when their prayers were not answered, the once proud warriors of fire exploded into a fiery blast, sending surrounding buildings aflame.

“Ha ha ha ha! You make me laugh! Is that all your pathetic body can throw at me?

Standing silent, Dreshna realized that those minions Ken'tel threw at him were merely a cover for time. Staring at Ken'tel, he witnessed his eyes glow white. Sparks flew out of his eyes, and before Dreshna had time to summon another spell, the clouds swirled above him. Lightning dashed in the distance, and fires erupted in sudden paces. The earth beneath Ken'tel became broken and crushed under his force. Like a butterfly out of a new cocoon, he changed, somehow, into something greater. His hatred boiled up into vengeance and three sphere orbs melted into form. The orbs poured their anger, hate, and vengeance into him.

“The wrath of heaven has come for you. Vengeance is mine, fool!

The skies turned white and the last thing before being blinded by the brightness was a streak of lightning crashing down on Dreshna.

Once the blinding flash faded, a once powerful mage lay dying on the dirt. Breathing heavily, Ken'tel walked slowly toward the body. Rolling it over to see his face, he noticed Dreshna was still breathing. Ken'tel raised his hands, ready for a finishing blow to the head. Raised at peak height, Dreshna coughed and uttered his final living words.
“This…is not the end… Dreshna stuttered.

“Ah but it is. Death is the answer to all things. and with that said, he slammed his fists hard into his skull, feeling it break before his might.

Rubbing his hand, Ken'tel slowly walked away. Assured that this evil would rise no more, he comforted himself with the thought that Endala would be watching him from the heavens. Turning his head around to look at the corpse once more, he was disgusted at which such proud people could take such a defiled route. Facing the path once more, he stopped. He felt the energies around him gathering, some sensed from his once fiery minions, but the stronger energies slowly gathered toward the beaten sorcerer. Swinging back, he watched in awe. Dreshna was in the air, surrounded by a pulsating glow of death. His skin melted off his bones, and the crater in his skull, created by Ken'tel's fist, was visible.

Apparently, his spirit would not let him cease to exist so easily. With the gathered souls, Dreshna also had transformed into the dead. Although disappointing to lose his old body, he knew quite well that this one suited his purposes. Laughing hysterically, Dreshna spoke.
“You are right, mortal! Death is the answer…to everything!!

Knowing his limits, Ken'tel ran, ran for his life…
