I am currently making the terrain for a new epic sized map for LOTR including the following books into the plot "The Hobbit", "The Fellowship of the Ring", "The Two Towers", and "The Return of the King"! Okkkk, two words. You crazy Man unless u use Xtra to make the map 480x480 there is no way you can do this, and even at that size the maps lag will be IMMENSE... im not sure u can pull this off, but hey im in :). syzygy998 on aim [email protected] |

alright! have u played the lotr ring wars or something simalar to that? where they made the units smaller? well we could make the all the units used small and scale every thing down then zoom in the camera and lock it there some how so evey thing looks almost normal except the terrain. but what was the xtra thing u said about having a 480x480 map? |

yea its for bnet. but still the map will be sweat if i can do it. like put all 4 books in it. i think its possible but it will be really hard. is it possible to get a bigger map than 256x256 because i tryed it with umswe and if i put in 480 as one dimenstion the other one had to be 128 or less. so i cant go passed a 256 square. does xtra let u do that? im still looking for other brave souls to behlive and help me. |

Pretty good idea, but really, it will take time.. And I think it won`t work. Too much work I say. Just stop making it and join another LOTR project. There are already too many LOTR RPG`s, that suck :( |

you don't need a 480X480 map you fools, it all takes place in one place!! So just make a 320X320 map of middle earth, and you're done, you don't have to make a map for every book, and you certainly don't need to include places that are not visited! |

dude if i just included all the parts that were interseting then i mine as well just put all the other maps made together. this one will be unique it will be more realistic than the othere ones in the sence that u can go places. and u need more than a 480x480 to make it good. even when all the units are scaled down to .50 and having the camera zoomed in. its a world middle earth is like the size of america. it is big. u need a big map "." i dont know what ur talking about "it all takes place in one place!! " ur talking about middle earth. um middle earth like i said is HUGE its a big place i dont know what ur talking about but middle earth is big. |
