Problem with making units attack with trigs.

ok, i make these strong units that spawn randomly around the map. now i did the acquisition range and attack, but that doesnt seem to work. any suggestions?

Make sure they aren't set to "Camp" because camp aquasition range is reduced.

Explain more of what you mean by "attack", do you want them to attack passing units, or do you want them to be ordered to attack-move somewhere?

i want them to attack ANY player units.

Any player units that what? Thats what I was asking! Any player units that get close? Randomly attack-move to the location of a players base? What.

Make sure the they aren't set to camp if you want them to attack any units that get close, also make sure they can SEE as far (you should set their site range to 100 more than thier Acquisition and attack range) as their range & acquisition range.

Also if you want them to "Chase" players, then when you create them do a "AI - Ignore guard position for (last created unit)" right after creating each one.

ANY units, its a survival map and the comp is supposed to chase the players and kill them, any of them. the fog of war is off do i still have to set sight range?

Yes you do, because the unit can't see there unless you do a "Create visiablitly modifier across playable map area for player Neutral Hostile emiting Visible", its just better to make the unit see that far anyway.. because war3 still might not have the unit "Acquire" the target if it can't see that far, normally it will, but Neutral Hostile units act differently then others..

ok another question, my testers are complaining of slow response time from their unit, is there a way to fix this?

you select the unit(s) and it should be an option in the general window that comes up.
