When I import a .mdx file it turn into a .mdl file so it can't find the file on my computer. Why? Also, What exactly do I do once I get the file imported to get it into a game?

This is beacse mdl is a more readable format and all mdx files are changed to mdl when they go ingame.

Does this mean if you import an mdx into WE and then export it, it will be readable as a .mdl?

This could solve a big problem of mine.....

No, in the editor it says .mdl, even though the file was a mdx. Can someone please tell me how to do the custom path for a .mdx file stored in this location:

C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Custom Stuff\Goblin Blaster\GoblinBlaster.mdx

Thx if you can.

It doesn't matter if it is in .mdl form. They are the same basically. If you import a .mdx, and the editor turns it into a .mdl, that is because it needs it in that form.

OK, but how do I do the file path for that path name I gave you. Whenever I import it, attach it to a unit, and save it says invalid file path. What am I doing wrong?

Well, first of all you have to make sure you are using the right filepath for the unit. I believe that cookie sent a .txt out with his goblinblaster model that told what directory it needed to be placed in. Then attatch it to a unit. Remember that the editor won't show the unit unless it is restarted after importing the unit.

But I can't find that file, it's in the units folder for the WC units and I don't know where those folders are. Can you tell me where all the files are that store the WC unit/ability/doodad/etc data files?
