How To model edit...

I have been trying to model edit for ever, and my question is, what can i use to do it.
Here are my problems:
3dmax $$$
gmax doesnt export
Wings no plugins
Milkshape Money and time (20 day activation w/o creditcard)

How can i model edit for free? and was something released that lets gmax work

You mean .mdl edit right? If so, all you need is Yobgul's file converter, which can be found here, and notepad.

If you meant .mdx (3D model) editing, you need 3DSMax or milkshape (I dunno about wings3D), WC3Viewer, which can be found here, and (if you use milkshape) something to convert .mdx into .obj files, which then can be imported into milkshape.

i got a model from wc3 into wings, my problem is when i export it as mdl it isnt the same type so i cant convert it to mdx.

HEY, PROBLEM SOLVED. if u wanna model edit for freeeeee, go to
www.anim8or.com its a free 3d modeling program and yes it does last forever.follow the eggplant tuorial, this wil teach u the basics of anim8or.
personally, i find anim8or better than all the 3d programs i hav, milkshape, gmax, wings...
one thing u can only save as .an8 so u hav to export ur model in 3ds format so threfor u cant animate. u need daisha of deaths 3dsorobjtomdx file converter. find it on google, type it the same way i put it here, don use spaces...
