Hello Everybody out there, Got a bit of a question for you all,
I have 3D studio max 4.2 and yogbuls exporter, and the War3 Art tools/viewer/file converter etc.
I cant seem to find a post about this problem anywhere on the forum so i thought i might being it to attention. I have been looking at the info contained in the .MDL files of the game and understand what geosets are and things.
However, Ive been messin about with importing the Evil illidan (guy with the wings in war3x) model into max (using KMK's importer) And it shows mesh 1 (the 1st geoset) as having 604 vertices, (this is confirmed by looking at evil illidan's orginal MDL file)
I delete all the meshes except the first one (illidan's main body) and attempt to export (have tried both KMK's and Bliz Art Tools), However when i create the new MDL file from the exported MDX it only reads the first geoset as having 545 vertices, a drop from the orginal 604. I havent deleted or moved any vertices, so why the drop in number? naturally its screwing all the animation and things.
Does anybody know why its chopping vertices out? Any help would be greatly appcieated :D

IF ure getting that problem i now know how to solve it. Use the USER PROPERTY EDITOR that comes with teh war3 art tools, Make sure that "connected" is UNCHECKED. Now export model with KMK's exporter.
Mush thanks to Citizen Snips for this tasty advice!
