This lithunwrap that everybody recommends seems to have gone corporate - it's called 3dunwrap and the demo doesn't let you save or export And do you really have to rearrange all those polys by hand to make an effective unwrap? |

to answer your second question-- Yes. In order to make good unwrappings that are easily skinned, its much better to unwrap your model manually. This doesnt mean that it has to be done face by face. But its better to take an amount of faces that are relatively in the same plane and unwrap them accordingly. Now what program are you needing the unwrapper for? |

oh yeah sorry, milkshape = Oinkerwinkle's just told me that it has it's own unwrapper but I couldn't get it working and saw somewhere that you needed lithunwrap - I'm going to give it another try |

lithunwrap is a lot more powerfull than the milkshape uv editor ive attached it for everyone that wants it (ITS FREE WARE SO DONT DELETE MY ACCOUNT) ive had bad experiences :P anyways happy modelling |

you could dl it off other comericial sites.. lithunwrap turned itno unwrap 3d. its not free, but lithunwrap is almost just as good, except selecting faces is a b*tch |
