Guest | It is a good idea. However your opening text that goes on the screen when you start the map is only visible for like half a second. I had to figure all of the commands through the map editor. Also consider that when the unit enters the 'talk' region and he says 'are you here for a horse' make sure that you put a unit type comparison that says only a footman can trigger this, otherwise you could have a knight getting a horse and getting on the horse, meaning theres only one horse total. Maybe you could use cameras as well. Keep updating your map, I would be glad to help!!! |

Guest | Ah! one other thing make your 'horse seller' guy invulnerable, if he isn't people can kill him and then still buy horses. |

Well on that map the horse thing is but a minor part I am making my own campaign and that is the horse u can by in the first village called Peron. I have going to make it later to where all u do is click the ppl to talk to them and many other things. The horse thing is also going to be tested more and i am trying to change models so it look better between horse and footman. So as I have said there is alot of stuff I still have to do. |

good job and nice idea. however.... Quote:
Don't listen to this noob :P if you're making a campaign or a serious map, you don't need anti-noob measures like making townfolks invincible. You want realism, not noob crap and whatnot. Let them kill the horse seller if they are stupid :) Then disable the horse buying trigger if that unit dies. |

Yeah but in RPGs and things there has too be limits to how much damage you can cause to neutrals (well unless of course your evil). It's sometimes good to some story in an RPG and if your character is supposed to be "good" he wouldn't go around killing civilians and even if he did it would probably make the story funky because important story people may have already died when they are supposed to be in a cinematic. Also seems likely that people would stop trusting you after a while. But maybe you could incorporate that into a game and make people, guards, bounty hunters, etc. come after you! :ggani: |
