hi, i just started mapping after pausing for 5-6 Months. I practiced a little bit and made these terrains. Whats your impression? Thx for critics : ) And dont think thats all i can :> ![]() |

The first one looks pretty good, but nothing impressive IMO. It was a good idea to use the Light. It really fits it. But the grassydirt (forgot the name again) is very out of place there. It doesn't belong there. Nor does it belong in the same tileset. For once I do agree that tall grass was a good idea here. Personally I think that tallgrass can't be used in many places. I can't see why there is a road behind the bench though... Furher it looks fine... The second one really caught my eye. The stairs you made from tables was a perfect idea, since the legs of the table. It shows that it has support while going on to the mountain... or cliff. The cliff itself has been made fine, nothing to say actually about it. Though here again, the tall grass wasn't such a good idea here. It doesn't look so good here IMO. Well, yeah I'll keep it with this... I'm in a good mood :D You said that this wasn't your true skill, why didn't you showed it? (Lately, I am hidding my own skill as well, though but I got heavy personal problems...) To say it in a few words: They look fine. -Fladian |

Yeah, the grasdirt doesnt look fine, thats true. Maybe i replace it. And the road there is for the people who want to make a trip to that place ://// And i said, thats not my true skill, because i have paused a long time and have to get my real skill, that i had befour the pause, back. sorry for my bad english D; thx for critic |

Yes, I would understand about the road, but the bench is blocking that path. Well good luck by retaining your skill :D -Fladian |

I'd lower the tables more. Whoever wants to go up there has got to have some mean legs. Make the distance between the stairs suitable for a warcraft unit to walk up (and not just a mountain giant :D). |

Not bad... Not bad at all :D Good job. Where the fountain is, you might have noticed yourself that it is completely straight. Something like that doesn't look so good ;) The Townhall was a good idea too, though you might want to either enlarge the Townhall or make the potted flowers smaller. This looks a bit weird IMO. I liked the third pic though. I don't feel like going out to details though... (I just finished a hard school project so I'm not in the best mood ever :P) Good job with them though Keep up the good work -Fladian |

Bah... I'm still too tired to give a good rating though I'll give it a try... The last 2 shots you posted were pretty good IMO, but I'll go into details. As for the first of them, give a good look to those rocks. They are not completely on the ground, you could change that, or use diffrent variations of rocks ;) It was a smart thing to use the 'Grass' though ;) (or River Rushes) it was a good thing you adjust the color of it :) Up to the next one... I learned how to place bridges rather quick (quicker then most others) so I know how to judge that :P But because of the River Rushes I can't see it completely, but in what I see, it looks like a good bridge and good placed. Well, there isn't much to rate and I can't go into details for it... so, good job :) Anyway, you might know it yourself, but I am very picky in looking into terrain ;) and (except for my own maps) I don't miss a mistake too often :P So, it is a change for me to say 'Good job, keep up the good work' :D -Fladian |

Those trees in the first pic in the first post. I have always thought of using them, but never bothered.. so where can I find them in mpq?? Help please :) |

You can't find them in the mpq, because they aren't there :P I think eXn extraced and modelled them new. |
