Im working on a "dungeon keeper 2" map. I changed trees model to a rock instead, so when you paste em all beside eachother it looks like in dungeon keeper, mud blocks. So then you can dig with "imps" (modded peasents" through these mud blocks and build stuff inside the maze.... But the problem is it will take me years with this editor lag to paste down all those rocks on the whole map. So, whats the command of pasting doodads over the whole map?? |

What your doing is kinda a good idea, but its not practical. The sheer amount of doodads you are talking about is probably up into the 7000+ range even for small maps and I'm only talking about your rocks. You think the lag in the editor is bad, it would lag game play to unbearable levels. As for a command that covers the whole map with your rocks. I don't think there is one. At least, not on the regular editor. |

Hmm i guess u are right. Thanks lots for replying, have been trying for 1-2 hours now pasting in them with the 8x8 brush. And now i also got an idea to reduce lag + not so much to copy. In dungeon keeper, you have water, lava, non mud bricked areas and such. Maybe if i make a big round hole from mud rocks in center and have some sort of cool temple, a lava river straight through the map etc. Ill try that :D thx alot |

Lay down a boxful of doodads with the brush. Select all the doodads. Press ctrl-C Press ctrl-V Click on the other parts of the map. Rinse repeat, repeat repeat. At the end of it you should have a giatn set of doodads to place around the palce. |

Right now im making a map with 4 players; a "X" lava river splits the map into 4 islands which are all full of these mud blocks. I came up with idea just a day ago! =) And another thing... plz dont make total copies of this idea now:D thx edit: Name will be ... Warcraft - Cave Keeper (or CaveCraft) |

are you going to use DC-like AI? Like you click on the bricks and the imps come and dig it? |

Yep, and when you click em ill change tinting color to teal (like in dungeon keeper). And your creatures will come with an interval through a portal, IF you have the building they want. Your heroes level up in a training room, you get resources (lumber) by digging out special mud blocks who look like gold. I think this game can be great when i finish it=) If there are any VERY SERIOUS and good map makers out there who wanna help, then pm me and you might join the CaveCraft staff!!!! |

I'm not that sure this would be a problem. I mean, I guess the number of rock blocks wouldn't be more doodads per square unit than the number of trees per square unit in a normal forest. It'd probably be less, and the model would be simpler. And you wouldn't really have to place any other kind of doodads really.. But I dunno :) Cool idea, this. |
