Icon Importing Help! AHHHHH! ><

ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\BTNBandit.blp

That is what i'm trying to replace with a image called AdrenalGlands.blp (and also trying with .tga and .jpg), and so I had the path as that, went to the editor, used that path, and now its still showing up as a bandit! How do I fix this? Also, I converted JPGs to TGAs to BLPs using WarCraft 3 Viewer. Please help!

Try saving and reopening your map. That is necessary to have imported files take effect. If it still doesn't work, upload your BLPs and someone can check to make sure they are ok.

Unless you don't have TFT, in which case make sure you are importing using WinMPQ after you've saved.

Ok, I have done what you said (saving and coming back) and now when I try to open my map, it crashes! Also, even though it says it needs the expansion, it saves as a .w3m file... Any help?

Are you useing any 3rd party programs? I've run into that because of them several times before ifso, I think your screwed into starting over. And as far as the bandit icon goes, why don't you just make a custom unit and swap the icons. I noticed that every now and then it won't work with the original unit.

I'm also confused with this, I tried those, and it still doesn't work, so what now? I just don't know the filepath I need... I can import it and everything but when I change the filepath to a button, it still doesn't work... errr :P

Ergh, I am using WC3 Viewer to convert these jpegs into tga then into blp. What path am I supposed to use then? Now, I can open the map, but it crashes whenever I try to view the icon. Also, I'm trying to convert Zurg's starcarft icons. Please help!

GGAAAARHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! NOOBS!!!! GET EM AWAY!!!
1. jpegs dont have alphas, so you need to add one, and ususally it screws up the current image (flips, rotates, mirrors.. etc), fix it, reconvert it
2. you need to add the proper paths, search for it, there are at least 1000 threads on this.
3.the map crashes BECAUSE it doesnt have a proper alpha channel (if you batch converted it wont prompt you that the starcraft icons dont have an alpha channel)


SO GET THEM AWAY!!!!!!!!

bmp doesnt have any alpha channels too... lol
so that would create the same problem
