Adding different weapons to models?

MaC-GyVer	Is there anyone that got a link to a tutorial or someone that can explain to me how to add weapons to models? I have tried a bit but it just get ****, the weapon get placed INSIDE the model and with for exampel footman skin. plz help!?!:mtk:
