Should custom titles and avatars cost points?

My question is should custom titles and avatars cost points? A title is a sentece describing yourself or something. You could put that in your signature for free. You could also put a pic in your sig for free, so it is sort of like an avatar. Suppose you just registered here, and you see that everyone has an avatar. You also want an avatar but, you don't have enough points to buy one. You would also want a title other than 'peseant'. Then when you decide on an avatar which you like for about a couple minutes. Then you don't like it anymore. You want to change it. This will cost you somemore points. Many people with 500+ pointsthink that 5 points is not a big deal. But if that's what they think, why not just make them free?

It gives a reason for new people to post. When I first joined, for example, I wanted a title and avvy of course. However, since I had no points, I did all I could to get them by making useful posts. I believe the points system is a great incentive for people to be helpful. In my opinion, they should continue costing five points each.

I think the point system is a really cool idea. Although I think they could add more things to the store.

I do see it your way, Enetheru, however wouldn't the font color, or the font glow cause people to post more too? I also know that it would take A LOT of posts to get these items, so they would work hard to get them.

Its a very good Idea, I wish other fourms had stuff like this they do need more stuff though I like the add color to user name that was a very creative Idea who ever did that ;)

Maybee they could add some mini icons (about the size of you names font) that you could buy to have put in front of your name. :ggani:

If an avvy and custom rank didn't cost points, there would be even less of a point to them.

Anyway, I like the points system. It's just a little bonus for being useful on the forum.


Why? Avatars are an expression of each person. To me, each person's avatar has an effect on how I think of them. Like Whitehorn with the Tick avvy he had a while ago, it made me think of him as kind of a goof ball, but still knowing what he was talking about. And Draco's avvy makes me think of him as kind of a friendly person, who's not gonna beat you down about being a noob or something like that. I dunno. Avvies have a strange physcological effect on people. Anyway, that was way off topic, so sorry. =)

And secondly... I don't have to pay for title... Just Avatar. But that's because I've got da powah!

no they should not cost points and as somebody else said...its only 5 points

The point system stinks. I lost about 800 points when I tranfered them to the bank. Tell me thats good.

I think they should cost the small amount that they do - considering that it stops noobs from uploading 400 of them without a single post.

I like it. Gives people reason to keep posting. There should be more things in the store.

I'm new here but from what i'v seen the point system is a really good idea and I think avys and custom titles should cost. Also, it may help stop people coming along posting once or twice and never bothering again.
