Guest | Can you have a computer ally that you can give money to though the ally button at the top of your screen. Or can the ally only be a user if you are going to give them money? |

With the Current Game as it is you can't give money or recieve money from the computer. I am currently working on a Trigger to allow you to command more of your ally and one of the options is to have it pay you tribute or Aka giving you some of it's resources. I currently have that part working. But I am still in need of finishing more commands so it might be a little before it is released. If you want more info about hte commander. Click hte link in my cig and read on. |

Guest | does the computer player 'use' resources as such? In most strategy games the cpu doesn't really have an exact gold/wood stockpile which they spend on units. They just gather and build. But does the computer player in war3 really use the tribute? |

Guest | You could make a map that would show the amount of wood and gold the computer has every let's say 5 seconds... |

Guest | Hmm im not sure, I will be looking into this more. I might just trigger it differently than its set up so the computer is not involved. But this subject is definetly something that is unknown. I will check out DK's stuff.://// |

If you look at the common.ai you see some functions and tests about gold and wood amount. It seems that the ai use resources. |

With the way Warcraft 3 works you can probably imagine that the computer needs resources too. He has to keep track of his gold, wood, and his upkeep too so that he doesn't start spending more money than he should or less money than he could. If you don't give the computer a gold mine for example, he won't build anything (he may go chop wood or something though, I've never tried doing that to a computer ) Anyway I agree the inability to transfer resources and such between allied computers and even other players who you have complete control of (such as players who leave during ladder games). It's hard enough trying to control two different armies and bases especially of different races. The inability to transfer resources makes things even tougher. Players whose allies leave have a hard enough time since their opponents outnumber them and don't have to do as much micro to win. It may be easier for the two races to cooperate their strategies if one person controls them, but it's still hard without resource transfer, and trying to keep track of all the resources too :bgrun: |

Yes the Computer uses resources. For example, whenever you have a computer ally, Click on his Town center or hall and you can see in the info window (Bottom middle) their Resources. Also you could make a trigger to allow changing between Ally's it would take some. I am starting to get bogged down but I am still working on the Commander. Well Night everyone. |
