Does anyone here know if it is possible to disable Auto-cast? I need it for a "Shield Hewer" based on faerie fire, but the Auto-cast needs to be disabled. |

I dont know how to disable it, but i know that if u remove "on" from the path: ReplaceableTextures/CommandButtons/FaerieFireOn, the yellow borders dissapear. |

@Shad0wFuRy: please refrain from posting redundant stuff that does not directly answer the question posed. He wanted auto cast disabled, not just made less obvious. In the object editor (spells), under undead - heroes, there is a frost armour that does not have autocast. Simply edit the art out and change the armour added to negative, and you'll have it =). If you want to retain the vision of the enemy unit, however, I'm afraid you'll have to trigger it. |

okay, in the editor go to abilities and click on your spell. somewhere there is a line that says "scriptenable- faeriefireturnon" remove this and the turn off one and you can get what you want without revamping it to use frost armor with negative values. trust me, its a less of a pain to fix bugs with custom spells when you are useing a spell for what it was used for (faerie fire was ment to reduce armor, frost armor was meant to improve it.) many maps have bugs because they reverse effects of spells. in one map, for example, the dryads keep removing a buff cause it was based on cripple. and abolish magic is a pain to use without autocast. |

I have already tried removing the on-off order strings. It seems to have no effect. After I removed them, I tried the ability, and I could still right-click on the ability to set/disable autocast. |

yeah, its a very *very* common misconception. @Quezacotl: please try to check to see if your advice works in the future. |
