A NooB needs help.

Hey, I need some help here.

I am making a stage that has new abilities, in the WE for WC3 and TFT, when you make a new ability, it uses an old one for it's default settings.

(Ex, make a new ability by click on new ability button, give it's name and select Brilliance Aura.

Now, Let's say you use Brilliance as the base, the only stat it affects is Mana Regeneration. That won't work if you do not wish increase Mana Regeneration.

So here comes the problem. I know I can make a Trigger to look for the ability and add the new stat.... but I am thinking there might be another way.

I also know I can create a buff and attach it to the unit, but I am not interested in that either right now (just want the basic buff to show that someone is affected)

What I wanna do is change the Mana Regeneration entry to a different stat, like regular regeneration or def or somthing else.

So how would I do that. I figured it has somthing to do with SLK, but I just do not know.

I apologize ahead of time if it is a stupid question, but you gotta start somewhere.

you should just create buffs. unless u are stuborn enough to just not want to, thats the best way to do it.

If I understood right you should choose an other Base Ability if you don't want to use triggers, for example for Life Regeneration Unholy Aura, for Defense Devotion Aura... Buffs don't change the Ability, they change how it looks like... and if they stack, for example you give a hero the ability Shadowstrike and make an other buff for every level one unit can have Level 1, Level 2 and all other Levels of the ability at it so it gets not the damage from the highest level effect it gets the damage from all combinated...
