Choosing Hero Abilities

Hey all, I've decided I'd like to make a map where the player can choose their hero's abilities. I looked through posts on the forums concerning adding hero abilities (there were a few) but none of them gave me a satisfactory answer, so I'm going to ask you all..

Is there any way to give an ability to a Hero? Not just the spell, but the ability to level up the spell as well?

I read weaaddar's system of using dummy spells and unit abilities, but it seems to me that the icon for upgrading the spell would remain the same, no matter what the chosen spell was. Is this true? It also seems that if my hero only has 2 abilities (and can learn 2 more) I will still have 4 dummy icons, and this is a problem for how I'd like my map to work.

Imbrifier, I'm ashamed. You look at Shimrra's hero selection system, and then ask how to do it, thus giving away his code, which was the point of the map protecting. Im deleteing the posts of code, and closing this thread. If you need to know how to do something, I know Shimrra would gladly explain.

I remember when I read this post and there didn't say anything about Shimrra's, Didn't you read that he used weaaddar's system?, if you saw something similar to shimrra's it probably was that Shimrra's based from weaaddar's.

I made my system completely from scratch and have had for quite some time, only recently releasing it. I didn't even know there was another system until just recently, hence the reason I made, I thought there should be one!

[edit] - I think I got confused with what you where saying. I thought you said I made it of that system, but I now believe that you where referring to Imbrifer.

If youll examine the dates of posting of this thread (03-02-2004 22:33 PM) and Shimrra's (04-02-2004 16:00 PM), youll realize that mine was approxmiately 17 hours ahead of his. Just because we are both interested in customizing hero's abilities doesn't mean one of us is plagarizing or insulting the other. I feel it was VERY inappropriate to delete the two responses to this thread and close it, as these two threads have nothing to do with eachother aside from their somewhat similar topic.

Following this, you start a thread at 23:33, just a few hours after you replied to mine.
