Special Effect Sizing?

I want to attatch a model to a units head using a special effect but i cant change the size of the effect. It seems to vary on the size of the unit its attatched to. But i want to keep the units size and shrink the effect . Anyone know how?

I've always had the same problem. The effect gets stretched along with the model... I would like to know too.

Create a unit using the path of the special effect and set its collsion size to zero. Then create a unit.

I did that to but it doesnt stay like right over his face it it places it on his back. I used a timer trigger to keep the unit positioned right over him but its centered from his feet up. and not right on his face.

Try setting the movement to fly and set the height so it hovers above the units head.

Ok the flying thing works sort of.I got the rotation to work. It still isnt exactly on the units head which is where i want it because its a mask. and when the unit runs up a hill the flying one raises up higher. I seen theres a way to use x,y offset values but i dont understand grid stuff.I wouold also have to figure out some trigger to keep the flying unit at the same level as the main units head.

x,y offsets won't help you, because you can't do a Z offset. I think what you want to do is very difficult to do, the easiest way to do it is simple to shrink the special effect's model...

How would i go about shrinking it?

Shrinking the model would be a PAIN. There was something about increasing a setting on the unit and it would make all attached items increase/decrease in size... I will look further into this.

Is it really that difficult to edit the model?
I have never really done any 3D editting, but I figured just a resizing wouldn't be too complicated...
I can't think of any easy way to do it otherwise, but if this isn't easy either, then I guess your out of luck...
