How can I convert .3ds to .MDX?

Well for 3D studio max You have to import the .3DS then make a skin for it save as .tga convert it to .BLP add it in via the Material editor hotkey (M) by diffult. go to maps and select Bitmap from the menu select your .BLP skin apply it to the model then Unwrap the UVW and then export it as MDX

if I didnt explain myself well let me know ;)

as difficult as this might sound i recoment that you download 3ds max 5 because 3ds max 6 has absolutely no plugins that work.....as for the guy askin to convert .3ds to .mdx use the program i attached ...altough you wont have animations your model will work ingame....i highly recomend you use tutorials and learn how to export using the blizzards tools purly because its better and you can make animations ;)

u do know that you an reduce a units poly count with a program called polygon cruncher so then you will be able to use it :P just make shure u reduce it to something below 1000

put this in ur max 6 scripts folder and pikc it out in the maxcript menue in the utility tab. it works well, imports and exports anims and bones.
