Alright this is my first skin ever that i am doing and i am skinning the demon hunter. While i was editing it i saw half of the demon hunters blade. i was wondering if i edited the blade would it double the blade or would it only create the piece i wanted and be just a single sided sword.

If you drew a broadsword in place of the normal demonhunter blade on the skin, then when you apply it to the model, you would have two broadswords connected at the handle.
