Dawn Of The Spirits RPG

Okaj...
I´m gonna make a RPG.
and I´ve got some ideas:

Name: Dawn Of The Spirits [DOTS] Act - 1

Story:In the first years of the world, the spirits of elements ruled the world. But then came the dark age of Crodoz, the evil demonlord,
and all the spirits was cast away. But over the years Crodoz empire fell to pieces, and a human empire begin to grow forth. Crodoz was of course very angry about this and started a terrible war against the human empire. The two empires were fighting for years. But in a small jungle village four child´s with strange powers growed up. Over the years they became stronger and stronger. One day a old wise man came to the village to tell the children that they were the
"elemental adepts" and that they must train to acomplish their quest,
to save the world of men.

Mission: Save the human empire from destruction.

Elemental Spirits: there are Elemental Spirits hidden along the path, and with these you can learn new magics and unleash powerfull attacks in battle.There will be 10 spirits per element.

Combat: Now and then you will encounter evil things on your quest.
When you encounter evil things you will be taken to an arena wre you battle against them. When you battle you will se a dialog were youy can choose if to attack, use magic, unleash a elemental spirit or flee.

-Attack: The camera will zoom in on the attacking unit and following can happen,
Usual attack(damages the enemy),
Battle howl(if you have a artifact weapon it have a chance to unleash it´s battle howl and damege the enemy with a magic attack,
each Battle howl have different apperance),
Critical hit(a hit that will damage the enemy even more)
Miss(you miss the enemy)

-Magic: When you choose to use magic in battle you will see a dialog,
on the dialog there will be some spells you can use and some you can´t use(you probably need to be a higher level to use them).
Each spell will have different apperance and loads of effects.

-Spirit: when you unleash a spirit it will do a elemental effect depending on which element it come from.

-Flee: If you choose to flee there will be a chance that the enemy block´s your way, and then the battle will go on and the enemy will start attacking.


The world: Out in the world there will be much of hidden treachure´s and puzzles which will be hard to complete. For example you need to use the abillity Growth on small plants so they will be wines which you can climb mountains with. Every person will ahve something to say.

Your party: In your party you will have 4 members, one that will lead and cats spells. You can change leader when you want.

I will post screenshots as soon as I have finnixhed the battle system.

i think you overdid the vegitation on your terrain just a little bit. other then that, it sounds pretty good i guess... it not my thing though; turn based battle.

will you actually play children in this game? maybe make a short prologe where you play the kids :D

The screenshots looks good and the vegetation is just perfect for me.

I tried to explain that the children grow up to be "grownups"

The turn base thingie is because you can have more effects and more cool cameras and stuff, and because I wan´t it to be special in the battle system.

For the Big filesize I have decided to do Act´s of my map...
Like in Diablo...
So in act 1 you will train your heroes and explore the continent on which the jungle village is.
In act 2 you will explore the rest of the world and enter many cities.
In act 3 you will go to sacred places of power to get enough elemental power to defeat Crodoz.
And in act 4 you will be in Crodoz empire.



right now I´m working on the jungle village and on the Ui/Icons.

(it looks bad ...)

But can someone give me a tip on how they think the cursor should look???

i think you should make a mossy (at least jungle style) little arrow as a cursor (fits with the terrain) :D

maybe I should have some kind of wand , because of that the other acts will not only be jungle/mountains...

the battle system is really hard to do... but I´ll finnish it sometime.
