OK, I have an awsome idea for a new arena/rpg/something with heroes, I just need a good model editor, or some good help with transfering models parts to other models (weapons, armor, etc...) so if I could get someone to help me with that, I'd be very grateful. |

Use MilkShape or 3D Max. ----- 3D Max is very expensive. You can get a 30 day trial of Milkshape. ----- http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/ Link to Milkshape homepage. |

I'm trying out the Milkshape, still trying to understand it :P, And uhh, how would I convert the files from Milkshape to .mdx? and one more thing, about how expensive is 3ds max? |

Thanks, And, do you know if there's a simple way to just, example: I want to take Arthas' sword, then put it on a Villager. And, would it be possible to take the armor off of one unit, then place it on another, or would I have to manually create the armor model, or create a model with armor already on him? |

you could do all those stuff "easy" but i'll have to dissapoint you....if u put arthas' sword in the hands of a peasant (it accidentaly turnd out this way, honest :D), the peasant won't slash with it...he will just punch with his fists, while holding the sword... in other words, if u want to do something good, u have to learn how to edit animations......and i think thats damn hard....:))) |

Nah, It's not that hard :P |

Hmmm, well, I'm a major noob when it comes to this model editing stuff, even when I read the tutorials, I can't seem to get the program they're doing it with, nor understand what they're talking about, so, how would I switch the sword out? Assuming I complete that, how would I animate it? |

adding a sword is easy...all u have to do is import the sword model in your map, make a sphere ability which attaches the sword to the hand and give that ability to the unit u want the sword attached... as for the animating part....i don't even have a clue :)) |

Thnx, I'll see what I can do now :P ... ok, I'm missing something, sorry for all the questions, but, how do I get the sword alone, then creat ability to put it into the Villagers hand? |

download it from somewhere.....here's a sword :p go to object manager > abilities, find the sphere ability (human/units) and make a new spell called "Sword" then edit the new Sword spell and set the target attachment point to "hand, right" that is (hand <enter>, new entry, right <enter>) set caster attachments to 1, and select the attachment to be the imported sword.....give the peasant the Sword ability, and he's got the blademasters sword in his hand......and punching with it :) |
