NPC Conversations

I've been working on an RPG for quite some time now and I've completed most of the NPC conversations that are associated with it. It basically works like a hybrid of standard RPG conversation trees and Ultima-style keywords.

When you select and NPC, you enter the conversation mode and you're presented with numerous questions / responses and you just need to type the highlighted keyword to continue the conversation.

I'm sort of stuck as to how I should position the camera, however. The text on the screen obstructs a lot of the view, so it seems that either centering the camera on your target NPC, or just leaving the camera in the isometric positon would be the best route.

Your thoughts?

It depends on what is happening in the conversation really, in some cases you should show a side view with both the NPC and the hero, others you should focus on the NPC, also add in over the shoulder of the hero centered on the NPC. I prefer over the shoulder my self, but you shouldn't do just 1, give some variety.

Something else that you could try is add fade filters to just 1 player so you can black out the screen.
