layers locked

for some reason the blood mage layer is locked so i cant put anything under it to delete that stupid thing behind his head. if i delete it without another layer under it it turens white. argh! help.:(


oh ya im using photoshop.

First off, if you just deleted the graphic that wouldn't make it disapear, you have to alpha it out. Why you can't even delete it is because the "background" layer is like a sheet of paper, even if you erase whats there the white paper still shows. To change that, make a duplicate layer and delete the background layer all together, then when you erase the checked transparecy indicator will show.

Just as a side note, always make sure there isnt a padlock icon next to the layer name. Usually that means something is locked, in this case on the background, everything. All transparencies will be white.
