getting skin into wc3 viewer

hi,

how do u get a custom skin which you have made, into wc3 viewer v2.3 and have that skin wrapped onto the model.

ie) i made a custom footman skin. now i want to put that skin onto the unit model in wc3 viewer to look at it.

example like that getting it into wc3 viewer.

how would i do that? (this is for viewing purposes, makes it easier)

Put the mdx in a folder, from that folder make a path EXACTLY the same as the texture path, put skin in. Use viewer to open the model you put at the top, it loads it with your skin.

Oh and another question. what program do i need to get TFT skins extracted. right now i have wc3 image extractor II and that has no TFT skins. so if u can tell me how to get TFT skins into TGA,JPEG,BMP so i can work on them that would be great. thanks again.

Alright, if the model is Jim, and the texture path is Units/Human/Jim, make a folder, put Jim.mdx in it. In that folder, put folder Units, which has folder Human, which has folder Jim, which has Jim.blp in it. Then open Jim.mdx in viewer.

Viewer can extract skins.

in other words... we'll be using arthas...
+ = Folder
- = File
---for MDL File---
+Units
+Human
+Arthas
-Arthas.mdx
-Arthas_portrait.mdx
--------------------
---For Skin File---
+Textures
-Arthas.blp
--------------------

take those 'main' folders... (units and textures) and put them in a zip, then use black's zip 2 mpq and convert the zip. and you open the new mpq file using some program (i use war3 viewer)

No, that's a lot of unecessary work. Using your system:
+Any Folder
-Arthas.mdx
+Units
+Human
+Arthas
-Arthas.blp

Open Arthas.mdx with viewer.

No need to worry about this anymore. Just get the new version.
Warcraft 3 Viewer

I have the same problem... Mine won't show the New Skin on my Paladin even though I've tried all your stuff... The only thing I havent tried is Zip to MPQ thing... Where do u get that program??
