I want to have an ability that summons a "monster ward" (that lures the enemy to it) but also has a plague ward effect that damages enemys that get too close to it. Can this be done? If so, I'm curious how ^_^ |

Not that I know of... I was thinking maybe I might just base the ability off of a reversed healing ward, and then use triggers to tell every enemy unit within.. say.. 600 of the ward to auto attack it. Should do the trick hopefully. I wish there was an easier, non-trigger way, however... anyone? :) |

Isn't the monster lure a unit? If so, just add the disease cloud ability to it and change what you want changed. If not, I've had trouble editing the healing ward aura before, too much trouble. Althoguht I was trying to make it a hero ability, so that might be the main problem, editing it to your needs might make it easier. |

The ward is indeed a unit, but I "think" the factor that attracts the enemy is based from the ability thats attached to the item (which spawns the unit). I checked and the monster lure ability has fields such as Lure unit type, Lure interval, etc. Any other ideas? |

Lol I just thought of that like 10 seconds before i refreshed this thread. It "should" work perfectly :) edit - question: whats the difference between these 2 fields in the neutral disease cloud ability: Data- Aura Duration Data- Duration of Plague Ward also theres fields for duration - normal and duration - hero.. any idea ? edit2- nevermind I think I've figured it out. I'm having my hero use an ability that summons a ward that has an additional ability attached. Should work fine. |

Sounds like the ward can outlast the aura ... hence, if the Duration of Plague Ward is 60 and the Aura Duration is 30 then the aura will disappear 30 seconds before the ward does. And all abilities have certain properties, such as Duration - Normal and Duration - Hero. Some actually use the two and others don't. For instance, auras use neither, but Bash would use both (how long a hero unit stays stunned as opposed to how long a normal unit does -- in normal WC3, heros regain conciousness sooner). |
