Job Postings

One of our community projects, The Age of Darkness© has three essential jobs opened. The ones that get the job will be well rewarded with an alpha version of the project (when it's done), and a reward in points (that's optional). And there are other advantages, as you'll see.

Here they are:

Site Manager:

The Age of Darkness's site manager will be responsible to make sure the site is updated with the lastest news & files, and will also moderate this forum. The best thing is that you'll be deeply a part of the mod, you'll know things that people can not know until the mod is released, and you'll have full access to the site.

Requirements:

- You must have an active msn account.

- You must be online while I am, so we can talk directly. I am online from about GTM -3, 0:30 to 3:30/4:00. That's GTM 21:30 to 0:30/1:00.

- You must be often online. At least getting online once a day.

- You must be very fluent in English.

- It is recommended that you have Flash, or at least any good html program. You also must be familiar with html.

- Of course, you must like the project.

Programmer

Well, we need a programmer to do some important programs we are requesting.

Requirements:

- You need to be an avid programmer.

- Please don't get in if you are going too quit soon...

Strategy Supervisor

Basically, what you'll do is to fit almost everything that is new on AoD to the game so that they are strategically balanced. You will edit abilities, units, buildings, items and such so that they won't make any race too overpowered or too weak. The fun on this is that you'll handle the new race presented on AoD: The Northlanders. You'll surely have to set, for example, how much strength will Jarl have at level 1 and how much he will receive per level. As another example, you would have to set how much damage will the Northlander cause on Offensive Stance, and how much damage he would receive at that condition. And so on.

Requirements:

- You must have an active msn account.

- It would be easier if you are online while I am. That way, we can talk directly. I am online from about GTM -3, 0:30 to 3:30/4:00. That's GTM 21:30 to 0:30/1:00.

- You must be an excellent Warcraft 3 player. One that is able to win with any race.

- You must be familiar with SLKs.

- You also must like the mod. It would be really annoying if you are only doing this for interest.

Check this thread if you want the job: http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/...9816#post449816

Note: If you have mIRC, join #Duoroth (same server as #wc3campaigns) for more information."

ure link dosnt work, but to point out, why does the Stratagy Supervisor need to be able to win with any race and need to know slk?

Erhm, well, it's logical...

If one is hiring a Object Creator/Balancer for a Mod that features New Race...one would expect him to know each of the already-existing races like the back of his hand. The bonuses and the weaknesses. A level 15 ladder player knows a whole lot about the games races. I mean, all the pro gamers i know think they're the god of balance as they bash Blizzard...Becouse it's actually "they" who get to play-test/experience the balance and strategies.... Anyways

About your slk Q....it's only logical, it's much better to add new races into the SLK's so they appear as normal in the Object Editor. That way it's easier to share Campaign Unit data-base...and even.... allow users to create maps with the new race.

meh, i know every race like the back of my hand, attempting and sucessfully balancing 23 new and modified races does that to you, but i almost never play bnet unless its to test something. On the note of the slk, i'll just say "uh" cause i never liked slk editing (screwed too much stuff up with it) and custom units + referances has always been good enough for me. *Turns around* yet another job i cant do because i dont like ripping apart the WCIII engine.
