Well, I'm sad to tell you all that Dark Conquest, the project I've been working on for almost a year, is being killed. Not that any of you really know what it is in the first place anyway. I tried to work up some hype around it, but nobody seemed interested. If we had've gotten hosted it would've been no problem (we WERE promised we would be over 2 months ago, but nothing seems to be happening in the site developement area) I don't have time to waste on it anymore anyway (if people showed more interest I would probably make time, but too late) since I now have 2 much bigger projects on the go, which will lead to a career in the field. So obviously this is more important. Aaaaaaanyway, enough of my whining, there's good news for all you modders! Read on! Since DC will not be completed, all of the skins and models that have been made for it will be released! No point in them going to waste now is there? no, of course not. :ggani: HOWEVER, many are not exactly finished. I have many very kewl models that are not animated, and some that aren't skinned. I don't have time to finish them, do you? 8)) I will be sequencially releasing models and skins to be completed by the public, once finished they will be released in packs. (like one model with a few skins that ppl made, or different versions of a model, stuff like that.) But before I go waisting my time doing this, I NEED to KNOW that you guys will be willing to help me out. So, do you think this is a good idea? maybe I should have it in a contest sort of way instead? What do you think? I WANT TO HEAR EVERYBODY'S OPINION WHO READS THIS POST! THE NUMBER OF VIEWS AND REPLIES BETTER BE THE SAME!! I MEAN IT! :ggani: I will start this "'death of my project party'" in about 1 week. be there! Sheyd |

sounds good. I could probably skin some if there are wraps. Ihave no idea how to animate or do anything with models so I can't do that. |

sounds good. but i will probably be more interested when i get TFT so i can actually put models and skins into the game edit: Quote:
some people view threads more then once, like me for instance, i came back to this thread to add this to my post. so what your telling us to do is not ever come back to this thread once we have read it, or post every time we view it. |

You shouldn't need interest in a mod to finish it. It does help, I know, but just because some stranger on the internet didn't reply to your post doesn't mean you should cancel it. Releasing the made work is great, but ... holding a party for its 'death'? If it wasn't much to begin with, what would be the point? O_o Well, whatever floats your boat, bub. |

thanks for the sympathey guys. Khadhar'phak: yeah there are wraps Jumbo_pie: ok.. I thought once you viewed a thread once, every time after you came back to look again it didn't register as another view... I'm still kinda sure that's how it works. Not total views, but different views. could be wrong I guess. Egg: kewl :infth: There's a school near me that has that program, but it's so damn expensive! It'd cost me like $20,000 to go for 1 year. I might still go though if I can raise enough cash. Magic: You're right, I know. But it does matter if people are interested, because if people get excited then that helps to motivate me to work harder. When you're all excited about something and you say 'hey cool look at this!' and you get ignored, it's pretty disheartening. But as I said, the main reason is that I don't have the time anymore anyway. As for holding a party, I'm calling it that, again, to get people interested. There was a very good chance I was going to get 1 reply to this thread after like a week. If that was the case I would've said 'fine, screw you' and deleted all my stuff. But 5 replies in less than a day is good, I'm glad I took the time to post. Calling it a party is also for psychological purposes. If I make it out to be a good thing it takes my mind off it. When really I'm pretty torn up about killing my project which I've been working on for so long. In doing so I'm breaking promises to alot of people and to myself. And it's also my retirement party. :( |
