As you can see, the project forums have been rearranged. There will be about six projects in the Esteemed Projects section that get space on the main forum page. These are the projects that we see are working well, making good progress, and just cool in general. These projects will be reconsidered about once a week. The other project forums are viewable in the Hosted Projects forum, and we encourage them to work harder to get a spot on the main forum page. |

After proceeding to the forums there is one think i don't like about it, which it takes a lot longer to see which projects (not on the "Esteemed list" have been updated (or well more like it that someone posted in their forum). |

Yay TTOA is one of the esteemed projects :ggani: I'll do my best to keep that up :D |

wow now i have to waste my time searching through all the stupid forum sections to see what projects I like have been updated. Maybe some people want to check out the other projects and don't really have interest in the "esteemed" projects. And is there a reason that Return of the Dragons in there. Last time I checked, all the updates were posted on the actual site. There is like 6 threads in there and there are other projects generating more hype lately (like halo mod). What was wrong with the other layout? It was easy to see what was updated, and I usually found the interesting and the uninteresting projects by seeing how much they were updated. Now all I see on the front are some of the least updated projects on the boards PR, FoK, and RoTD are running slow right about now. PR doesnt have the hype that it used to, and FoK is barely ever updated, and when it is, all it says is that its being tested, or has glitches, or its people bitching about its unfinished status So in my opinion, Id prefer the old one back, and would like to check out what projects I feel are "esteemed" without being limited by admins' perspective on what they feel is esteemed. |

STURMguy22, first of all, this in no way inhibits your ability to view project forums you would like to see. Most web browsers have a sophisticated favorites or bookmarks system that allows users to store URLs where they can easily access them. Consider using this if you dislike the additional click required to view your desired forum. Second, you seem to think that these six picks are immutable, though I explained that they would be reconsidered weekly. Remember that the criteria for this is recent progress and hard work, which fluctuate in nearly every project. Finally, before you dispute the right of a particular project to be the featured, remember that you are not omniscient. FoK, for example, whose team I work very closely with, is progressing very rapidly, though it may not be obvious to an outsider. Hylic, this is a necessary evil. I must stress that this is no 'Top 10' (or 'Top 6') list. Many users are overwhelmed by the number of project forums we have, and had no easy way of finding the ones that may be interesting to look at. With this new arrangement, users who are unfamiliar with our projects are given a window through which they can easily view the more interesting ones. At the same time, the system gives a gentle encouragement to pick up activity with the offer of more hype for the project. Even a smaller or less popular project could be featured after a willed show of energy. Don't be discouraged if your project is missing from the list, as you will have ample opportunity in the future. |

Now you say that FoK is progressing very nicely yet we see not very much in its forum besides ari's infrequent updates. If your idea of an active project is one in which only the people that work beside it see the progress, then who is to say that the other projects are treated fairly. I never said I was omniscient, I only judge projects by what I see. Is that what the new set up is based on, progress that can be seen? Many other projects that work diligintly might not have the administrators involvement, but your first choices of the esteemed projects seem to be the ones that either you are working on, or you know are working. Now if the first picks would have been ones that have a constant highlighted button showing new posts, and have pictures of new models/skins/etc, then I would have a little more faith in the decisions. But choosing projects that barely have any updates to the public and where most of the news is posted another site, it just makes me feel that some projects are treated unfairly, especially the ones that have pics of new models and skins. I understand that they can be changed, and that projects will be esteemed, and then put back into the generic sections, but hopefully the choices for the front page projects will be a little more thought out by the next update |

FoK will be completely finished in earlier March, at the latest, so yes, a whole crapload of work is being done on it. :D |

Another thing shouldn't't there be a icon in front/side of the "Esteemed" projects that shows if there were any new posts or not? And on the a similar note (i don't know if this has been mentioned or not) how come the icon that's supposed to show if there has been any new posts (where there is such a icon) many times is "Highlighted" (or colored) when the new post's were in the private/staff forum of that project (at least i assume that's where because when i click to go to the last post it tell's me i'm not authorized etc.) or more like it not why does it do that but instead can that be changed. |

thing is, a lot of work on ALL projects is going on 'behind the scenes', and admins assume that, say, not as much is being done on my project than fok, because they know tucks and ari well. however, (i think fok is getting more done atm, but we are still getting plenty done) the activity in the forums is about the same. However, I don't totally dislike the system, but i think one project should maybe not be allowed on that slot for more than 4 weeks at a time, just to give everyone a chance. |

Nice work of layout Wc3C admins :D You make me proud :foot: Oh and to those people bitching because they have to click one extra time, just do as I would. Ban them, post their ip in a astalavista forum, nuke their ip daily and mass email bomb them! ****ers.... |

There is one bad thing. If the mod has a website it ussaly put under project description. but now since its set up like that there are no links. And I have no clue what the urls of the sites are. So This Really Sucks. |

Good point, i didn't notice that, but there should be no reason why they can't have it even with the current setup (most likely the (as in the admins) didn't notice either. |
