Ok, here's the deal: I'm gonna start workin' on a Cinematic Project known as "Burning Skies" (already started on it, but NEED mo skinses). ANYWAY, I have virtually every skin I need...'cept one...the ultrabadevildudewho'sgonnakillusall villian skin. Now, this guy's name is Sornaris, and he's a demigod, an EEEEVIIILLL demigod, who is bent on world domination, just 'cuz he hates good stuff, yadda yadda blah blah... so anyway, he's basically your average egomaniac villian person, but with one thing...here's where the model comes in. Ok...I need...for Sornaris...(fanfare) A RAT DEMIGOD Model!!! You see, an interesting discussion came up as to what he'd be, and I just put a rat for him...and it stuck...the thing is, a little rat isn't gonna be very menacing as an ultra-evil villian thing. So what I need is a rat-demigod model. He doesn't need very much animation, pretty much a walk, attack, spell, and channel animation, and that's it. I'd like him to be rather large, with a really evil humanoid rattish-lookin' body, and an evilasyoucanmakeit head of a rat. The color really doesn't matter, but if I had to choose, I'd pick either silver or brown. I will award every last point I have to the guy who can make a good model and skin for me! GOOD LUCK GUYS!

erm. I reckon i could do a simplish one for ya, sort of an overlord (or any other big nasty model within reason) with a rat head swap if you like. he'd be fully animated and size wouldnt matter as u can scale them in the editor (Art-scaling value)
Headswaps aint too tricky to do, it should work i guess.:bgrun:

Well, I think that might look ok, but he has to have fur on him. I mean, he IS a rat. He also needs a tail, and maybe if you could edit out the weapon of the overlord like you suggested. His weapons are supposed to be his claws, so...to sum it up, if you're gonna edit a head onto an overlord-ish body, then like, make it furry, have claws instead of that wierd sword-cleaver-spear thingie it has, and a tail. I think that's pretty much it, and we're in business. Think that's ok? Too much work?

Sorry Markus, I didn't realize there was a request forum. I don't think it shows it in the main forum menu. Thanks for putting it there, anyhoo.

Well the real rat head is very very small, only a few vertices and will look silly scaled up, however i could head swap him with a dire wolf head, that's furry and would like ratish, as far as claws go i could possibly splice a dreadlord's hands onto him, they have big claws, bear in mind tho this model would still use whatever animations the body is made up of, also u can give any model a furry body by re-skinning it, as for the tail, he could certainly have one, but it wouldnt be animated, if u wanted an animated tail it'd have to be made sperately and attached via triggers, if u know how to attach it lemme know.

Sounds ok to me! And yes, I know how to attatch tails, it's like, create a special effect on unit...blah blah blah. So, the tail could work, the wolf head, hmm, yeah, i think that'd look pretty good. After all, he IS EEEVIIILLL! The overlord body with fur would look pretty good, and the dreadlord claws, I think maybe reskin 'em just a little to make it look like they belong to a rat. Now, the tail, prolly attatch it to his chest, or origin or somewhere around there. Keep up your good work (nice wraith thingies) and get back to me ASAP! I'll be sure to give credit!

Okay, Now it's 4:06am. I rarely sleep anymore.

It seems to be goign rather well,
The animations on the dreadlords left hand is way off, that may need to be re-constructed, Also, I aint a very good artist and not too good @ skinning..
This is what I got so far, What do you think?

All his animations are fixed now and look okay in every animation sequence. The model is complete now although he dosnt have a tail...Do you really think he needs one? The tail.mdx file would be again the size of another model (about 300k) that you'd have to import into the map as well..
This version of the rat monster weighs in at 137k.
All he basically needs now is to be skinned.

O_O...WOW! That's good! You were right, the wolf head looks pretty decent as a rat head. I can suggest only 2 things: 1, he still has his fel-speedo thing. 0_o 0_o 0_o and unless he's like a stripper-rat then that's not gonna look too good, know what I mean? And 2, the body is still kinda red, and needs some fur, that is, unless he's like a naked mole rat. But other than that, 'tis awesome. I escpecially like the work with the dreadlord hands. Perhaps if a little fur could be added with the body, and no spe--er, fur covering up his crotch, he'd be almost PERFECT!

Forgot to mention last post, the tail, well, me'n the other guy workin' on the cinematic, (Xzarol) had this idea about the fight sequence between Kul'Dunar (a holy templar dude) and what happens is, Kul goes in with his sword, and Sornaris blocks it. Sornaris tries to kill him with his claws, Kul is too fast, but then, the rat catches him with his tail (gonna make him spin around real fast, and play a THWACK and send Kul flying) so, that would really be nice. You mentioned it would be over 300k, but I think it's an essential part of him. Not tryin' to overwork you, but y'know. It doesn't have to look all that great, just needs to basically match the color, and maybe have a swing back and forth stand animation, or you could just make it stationary, I don't care. Good work so far! I'll be sure to SHOWER you in credits once Burning Skies is finished.

dude, that cinematic sequece is like, insane and would be impossible to make. without like, a new model, A CRAPLOAD of animations (hard animations too) and i mean, it would be cool and all but way too hard.

By his "fel-speedos" i take it ure referring to his pants? I could try and add some black fur across his body but if i were to do that across his crotch...well, ahem, he'd look female if you know what i mean.....
Also twister is right, that cinematic sequence u are planning would be utterly impossible to do without creating all new very difficult unit animations whitch i doubt anyone on this website could do for you.

I wouldn't worry too much about the fight sequence. Pretty much, I am very experienced with the editor, and I can make him spin around in a 360 spin using triggers. Sure the sequence will be difficult, but I can prolly make the sequence in about 30 minutes, if I do it just right. I know a few little tricks. And, er, about those fel-speedos, I think I have an idea about that. Perhaps you could spread some hair over the reddish body like you suggested, but keep the fel-speedos (dare I say) and just leave it be like that. It'd look more decent, and I think that it would sort of add a sense of humanity to him. So, whatcha think? Keep the fel-speedos, but reskin the body with hair?
