I make my skins in Paint Shop Pro 8, save, then open in Psp 7 to add alpha channels. In 8 use color legacy and overlay burn dodge they help make good skins. |

to make a shiny armor or metal texture-- take a dark gray and make a line, then take a lighter gray and make a line above that, then a lighter, and a lighter, so you have a rainbow of grays, then use the smudge tool to make them smoothly connect and you have a highlighted metal texture. Then you can add some noise and a motion blur to put some streaks in it for detail |

Makeing a good face. create a new layer and.. Start with the base face color. Now select a tint of that color or a darken tool. use this on the eyes make the spot kinda dark but not so dark, Make it around the size of the socket. now cut the eye opening out. Create another layer, make a white circle where the opening was move this layer behind the face layer. Create another layer put this above the eye white layer byt below the face layer this is for the pupil. Now return to the face layer and make the eye lids with the burn and dodge tools, or lighten and darken. This part will take awhile to get good at or not. Now move to the nose Your going to have to look at the model and darken around the outsides of the nose and on the nostrils look at peoples faces drawings ect. Lighten the Eyebrow area and where the boes are closer to the skin. Nose ect... for lips make an outline ofthe lips shape with the darken tool. lighten on the inside of this line add color till it looks right darken mouth opening. chin just darken the shape and lighten untill looks good. Makeing good faces just takes practice and better info the i can really provide at this time. hope that helped.... |

well, for armor, I use a 3-5pt 100% burn to outline it, then I dodge in my midtones, brighening the center more, and moving in circles. I then set highlights, and brush the center on a low % barely, then burn the edges. for chain, i made sideways "L" plates on a 2px burn, 100%, then I dodge the centers, then run a Mosiac filter over it (very good chain-ish) Faces, i do something similar to sansui's but i do it in grayscale, and start with the cheekbones, nose, and chin :D |
