Making the ! appear above a hero

I know that in a lot of quest maps where the ! shows up above a character's head, that it is done using the "attach special effect" trigger. However, I have heard that certain effects, such as the crypt lord's impale, can erase a special effect applied to a hero in this way.

So I am trying to make an ability based off of Sphere that makes the exclamation point appear above a unit's head, but it's just not working!

If only it were that simple... that's exactly what I did. I think there might be an issue with the exclamation mark model not being attachable or something. Because when I changed the model to use to the Keeper of the Grove projectile, it worked.

If someone else could independently verify that you can't attach the exclam to a unit using Sphere, that would greatly help my sanity, since it is really starting to bug me that I can't make this work.

You could just attach a special effect of the "!" above the Hero's head...

ya. its an SFX. dl UMSWE and look in the string files. its name ell cach yer eye... (if there not sore from lookign at 400 text strings)

You can do it with the normal editor as well. Look under Extra - Exclamation Mark.

Yes, Blizzard made World Editing a lot easier with the newer patches.
