Unit Icons not changing

Hi guys,
I have made a few custom units for my map and tried changing the interface icon (face) of the character, and it shows correctly in world edit. But when I load my level the units have their original icons again.

I did a search for previous posts on this and one suggested reinstalling to ensure there were no custom folders etc, so I did a fresh install into a new directory and am still having the problem.

Any ideas or solutions?

Cheers,

hmm...u converted to .blp...imported into map....
try keeping the name the same w/o the warcraftimported sh*t
then when u apply the icon for the custom unit, go to the icon thing and click import and select ur imported file

The problem is, I wasn't even using custom icons, I simply changed it to an existing one within the editor :(

Sorry, I was talking about the unit portraits, I wasn't sure exactly what they were called.

Is there anyway to change the portrait or is it linked to the model?

Sorry for the confusion,

No problem, that was my first world editor problem, and no there is no direct way to do that, portraits are linked to the models, but you could try importing another portrait to the portrait model's path but it will take you out a lot of KBs, my advice is to forget it.

Ok thanks. I was originally only going to use it for a minor effect anyway.

Thanks for your help and patience,
