Well I'm gathering a staff for my upcoming project, World of Fate witch you can look up on one of our sites that finaly seems to be working propperly... www.freewebs.com/worldoffate Turn your speakers off when you go or down... I doubt most of the people here like J-pop ;) But to the point... I seek two terrainers to bring the map spiffyness and good looks... (Note that the map has not been made yet still seeking out the people who are working with me on this) If you would like to participate in the project, I'd first like to see your talent's as a terrainer... So post a screen shot of some previously done work or make something new if you'd like and post it here. I'll be cheaking this forum time to time, and hope to see lots of great terrainist's out there I know your hiding somewhere! (Remember only the two people I consider to have done the most detailed terrain that fits in with my map will be put on my project) |

Come on guys, put your terraining skills to use in a massive campaign, while I haven't asked to have it hosted here yet (waiting to get the rest of my members for the project) I will and am hoping draco will say yes, But even if it's not hosted here your still gonna miss out on a great chance to work with many other people on a great campaign. So get to it post some Screen shots of some spiffy terrain you've done and lets see if you have what it takes to work on the terrain for this campaing! |

No offense, but asking strangers to help you in something that big is probably, in my opinion, the wrong way to go about things. First, theres little to no motivation. Second, the people who DO offer to help probably, in my experience, don't know what they are getting into and bite off too much they can handle. My suggestion would be take your offer to a friend or two. Working on a 'massive' campaign with more than 2 people can prove futile and can get very messy, very quickly. On the other hand though, if you have ANY need for a story line, catch me on AIM at ChaosTFC or just PM with a request. I would enjoy making anything that would require some advanced writing, or simple writing, too :) Edit - BTW, your signature isn't working. Just pointing that out if you didn't know already, I hate looking at red buttons ;) |

Yea well... I know the sig don't work I have to goto my site each night and reset it hahahaha. Annoying as hell. And yes I know this isn't the best way to find people but I don't have any freinds to great at terrain. Soooo I'm gonna keep tryen this way =) And when I said massive I mean massive... so if you don't have alot of time on your hands don't even bother posting here. |

I wouldn't make a MASSIVE map if I were you. I'd break it up into smaller maps, to let up on the lag. With the map linking, this can be done easily. You can still keep your campaign massive, just not the map. It's horrible playing a laggy map. Also, a lot of terrainers here like to go for the detailed terrain with lots of environmental doodads. Stuff like that will really slow a giant map down, so the best solution would be to break it up. Another plus is you get to have more tileset variations. Just some advice for ya. |

Well I ment massive campaign, the maps will be divided, all dungeons and such will be seperate maps. most of the towns as well. But I just realised... If I spend some time I do some godly terrain! Anyone know how to make a screen shot into a jpeg? |

Open it in photoshop and save it as a jpeg. Or you can open up paint and press control + V right after you've taken the screenshot. Then save it as jpeg. |

You need to get something better than MS Paint. Try Photoshop or even Paint Shop Pro if you're desperate. You could even get a free trial at www.adobe.com. |

K thanks draco, I have a free trial of some other one that can do it but it puts a blue mask over the picture and I can't remove it heh... |

Ok I think I wasn't clear enough. You can make screenshots with paint. Here's how: 1. In the world editor (or in game) press "print screen". 2. Right after that, open up MS Paint, and press "ctrl+V". 3. Your picture will show up, and you can save it as a jpeg file. Although be warned that the screens will be at whatever resolution your monitor was at when you took it, making for some large files. I suggest you get photoshop or an image editing program (that's better than paint) to shrink them down to a viewable size. Hope this was clearer. |
