Extracting Splash Screens?

Where can I find the splash screens (like shown at the beginning of each mission, with the map and all), so I can take a couple and create an unblemished map and an X/dot I can use to make my own?

You can get Image Extractor. With that tool, you may extract these files (which are under the UI directory) and save them to your computer.

Bah, they're all in pieces...how can I assemble them so they'll form one coherent splash screen that will display the text description etc properly?

It's not the finding them thats the problem. I take them, copy them out, and try to combine them in photoshop but their scale's all wonky and theyre each a different size...i wish I knew what's wrong here.
