Earthquake makes damage to units?

How do I do if i want earthquake to damage enemies AND slow enemies, otherwise i'll use flamestrike and modify it.
So how do i make a trigger that damage enemies that are under the effect of earthquake?
And what is "channeling"?

Channeling is where you are sitting there 'holding' a spell.

Spells that require u to remain standing and stop if you move are channeling spells. f. ex. Blizzard or Death and Decay


On the earthquake spell: Data - Damage per second & try adding to the Stats - Allowed Targets

Well the problem is that it is "Damage to Buldings" and you can't damage units with the spell itself, so I have to do it with triggers, but how?

Oh man... You see the "targets" option I think it's just below "damage to buildings = 50." It will say something like "enemy, structure" add "ground" to the list then your value (50 in this case) will affect enemy buildings AND ground units :)

I'm telling you, IT DON'T WORK!
This is how it looks:

Data - Damage per Second to Buldings 50.00
Data - Effect Delay 0.50
. . .
. . .
Stats - Area of Effect 250.00
Stats - Buffs Earthquake,Earthquake (Caster)
. . .
. . .
Stats - Targets Allowed Debris, Enemy, Ground, Organic, Structures, Tree

Im trying to attack a spider, but it is only slowed. So it don't work.
So how do I do a trigger that damage the enemies effected by earthquake?

Make a dummycaster and a spell based off of blizzard with no graphics, then you do this trigger.

Event - Unit Begins channeling an ability
Condition - Ability being cast == Earthquake
action - Create unit DummyCaster
action - Unit - Issue order (blizzard) at point (target point of (ability being cast))
action - wait until order of casting unit is not equal to (earthquake)
action - remove DummyCaster from the game.

Edit: maybe it should be order of (triggering unit) I am not sure.. and maybe you need to make the event Unit begins casting an ability.
