Alright, im currently working on a new map (work on my old project as been put on hold for various reasons), my new map is based off of TH15's Tank Commanders... ofcourse im not just simply stealing it and making minor modifications or anything like that. But anyway, this map is going to use Ships, more specificaly ships from Colonial Times (i.e. Runabout, Caravel, Frigate, etc.) and I've been brainstorming ship ideas and weapon ideas with a friend of mine (hes sorta an expert when it comes to Colonial ships). SO... to get to the point of all this, if you have any weapon ideas (even a weapon name would be nice) that would be nice. Along with that, feel free to give me suggestions on the map (I will give credit to any ideas that I use) |

I'm not sure what Tank Commanders is so i don't know how well my ideas will conform but i'll put them anyway. Fire Ship (actual historical ship) = shoots bursts of fire. short range, splash attack AND/OR launches spheres containing liquid fire. "Skillfully crafted by troll alchemists, the liquid fire expelled when these ships attack engulfs the enemies in flames but is unstable and may backfire if not handled with care." Demolition Ship = small ship packed with explosives. Goes kaboom. "A skillful commander will take caution when using these ships as any vessel caught in its detonation zone will suffer serious damage." Ballistae Ship = ship mounted with a ballistae. Long range, slow attack. "Though slow to reload, the heavy ballistae launched gain enough momentum to shatter the thickest of hulls." Viking (Dwarven?) Rowboat = weak armor but speedy. fires arrows/axes/hammers very quickly. Maybe a viking horn ability (roar) ? "These agile vessels are powered by many capable dwarves who can quickly take arms if the need arises and prove themselves a very dangerous foe." I thought it would be cool to have flag ships, and each player would have a unique one. The Silvana (flag ship) = heavily armored. fires boulders (catapult mechanism). has flare ability. "The Silvana strikes fear in the hearts of all who live to see it. This heavily armored engine of destruction has known no defeat and has survived countless battles." Aleksander (flag ship) = creates fog around ship. any unit firing into fog may miss. gives shadow meld to units in fog. "Seen as a slowly moving cloud, mariners are often taken by surprise and quickly silenced when the Aleksander passes by with its fleet hidden in the mist." This is all i could think up for now. Tell us more of what the map will be like and maybe i'll get some more ideas. |

Wow, I honestly didnt expect someone to go to such an extent as give descriptions and Tooltips ideas and everything, thanks. pyrus the mage: This is all i could think up for now. Tell us more of what the map will be like and maybe i'll get some more ideas. Ok, well (im not very good with map description, ill do my best). Basically, the main concept of it thus far is that you will start off with a fairly weak ship (i.e. Runabout). It's set up in a AoS style, where as you are attempting to demolish the enemy base set up on the other side of the map. You and your allies (along with some comp units that spawn, like AoS maps) raid the enemy base while defending your own from your enemies Battleships. I suggest you attempt to DL Tank Commanders, or Battleship Command. Playing the games that inspired htis would give you a good idea of what I'm rambling about. Sorry if you still don't understand.. tryin my best here though. Thanks again for the ideas. |

Thanks :D . details like that kinda come natural. Im not quite sure what an AOS is and am not in the mood to dl and play anything right now. im just gonna give ideas right now. Fishing Dinghy = provides sustenance(?), upgrades to Heavy Trawler at a shipyard or something, like the acolyte sacrifice. Heavy Trawler = provides sustenance(?) and has the ability Drop Lines where it 'takes root' and any unit that come near it gets damaged and keeps getting damaged until the heavy trawler sinks or the ship moves away. slow with lots of life. could act as a mobile tower/defence unit. for those who dont know a trawler its is a kind of fishing boat that has long lines and nets, etc. "Modified from the original model, the Heavy Trawler has giant hooks attached to its lines that metuculously rip apart the underneaths of enemy ships that are foolhardy enough to get near." Pirate Ship = no attack. has ability Hostile Takeover which is a modified charm with almost no range and long casting time. its supposed to simulate men taking over a ship so the pirate ship needs to be next to the intended victim. Here's an idea for a building Lighthouse = Has max vision day and night and has flare ability w/cooldown but limited range. |
