I'll ask my question here, (first, but if I don't get an answer in a while, I may have to ask it else where) because I don't want to infuriate anybody. How do you make a custom skin apply only to a custom unit (that is based off something else) and not to the unit it's based off of? I have a custom skin of a footman that I would like to apply to a custom unit that will be based off the footman (using the same model), but I also want the normal footman too. This way I'll have both the normal footman and the original one. Can I do this? If you could respond, I'd appreciate it. Oh, and P.S., sorry about my avatar, haven't gotten around to changing it. |

Aaaah. Not so many brackets in future please =(. It makes it hard to read. Okay. I THINK I roughly understand what you're asking. No, you cannot apply more than one skin to a single model. If you import the custom skin, it will override the blizzard skin. You will have to extract the footman model and edit the path to something else, then name the custom skin to that. So you'll have to import the skin AND a model. For more information about this, you can ask in the modelling forum =). (i split the thread away because this really doesnt have anything to do with the FAQ - or slks anyhow, but I just thought I'd answer it.) |
