I'm new posting here but I've been mapping for quite a while, and I've started work on a large project named 'the Coming of the Vileness'. It will be an RPG where you play one of 6 heroes, and try to bring the world to it's knees by destroying towns, slaying great heroes and other quests involving pure evil :ggani: You start off with your hero selector around a large rock, which recently fell from the sky making a large crater, and bringing your Vile presence into the world. From this rock you may buy various items. The map will get extremely hard, so teamwork is encouraged. Because of this it's recommended you play with the maximum 6 players, but no less than about 3 or 4. I hope this map turns out well, and I hope I can get some great tips from this community ^^ Ah, and one request - Can someone please tell me the differences between the RoC editor and the TFT editor? There are some things I haven't been able to do and I wish to know more about RoC's limits (from what I've seen TFT has a lot more to do and is more flexible). Thank you for your time, Rhodus |

I got a screenshot of the Crater, with the Vile Spirits around it. This is the player's starting point in the map. Is my terraining ok? Does it need improvement? I'm all open for criticisms here, so be as honest as you can. I've also got the starting triggers for selecting a hero sorted out, so I'm off to test it ^^ |

Nice Crater :), but what would be really cool, was if the crater had blown up part of a town! That way the players get right into the action right away. The ideas is nice, though I don't realy like the name, its too much like the "coming of the horde". Doesn't really "ring" well. The plot idea is very nice, you rarely see people making evil rpgs :P. You may want to make it possible to play with only two people, a lot of times players leave in games like this pretty quickly. Also, if the choice of hero will be limited to 6, you're going to want them to be VERY balanecd, or else whoever can click the fastest on the best hero will overpower the other players. |

Thanks for the ideas. Making the meteor land in a town would be damn cool, and I'll most probably use that :D I probably will reduce players, it's so boring repeating the same things in the triggers. Maybe only 4 players, but not 2. I've tried to balance the heroes as well as possible, and people can choose the same hero if they wish to, though it's best they diversify as there's a healer, a scout, and mostly ideas I wanted to try out and I thought were interesting. For example, I made one hero just as a cloud of gas :P Of course there's the specialist melee fighter, what's a game without a super-strong warrior who can slay 100 men single-handedly? Well I've rambled on long enough! Thanks for your comments. For now I'll be working on the gameplay because I have enough of the terrain done to test most aspects of it. My knowledge of triggers isn't great so I'll probably ask here for help if I need it. I'll stop boring you now:ggani: |

Nah you're not boring us. More screenies when you can plz :). As for players, make it 6+, i didnt mean to make it two, i meant that it should be POSSIBLE to play with only two, so thjat if people leave they can still win the game. Also, when you're in the form of a wisp, make it so when you click anywhere little fireballs fly out in all directions :-p, just for kicks, people will want to stay as wisps, and smart people will get a head starrt lol. |

Ok, small update. I've bought the expansion, Frozen Throne, and the map editor is 10 times better. I may even do custom skins, and certainly custom abilities. At the moment the heroes have 1 custom ability each, and I'm not sure if I should make some more. I haven't updated the actual terrain, but I've tidied up triggers etc. Anyway, that's about it. No more screenshots yet, but keep posted for some more! ^_^ |

Hmmm, yes make it destroy part of the town, I'd also use some dead tress and lava terrain around where the meteor hit. But good job so far. |
